Recently, the AgroInnova Project Team conducted an engagement visit to the Last Mile Actors (LMAs) and host farms in the Ketu North District of the Volta Region. 🌍🐔

During the visit, we had the honour of meeting Mr. , an officer at the Agric Department of the Ketu North Municipal Assembly, whose support and advise have been instrumental in the successful implementation of the Poultry Success Initiative within the district. 🤝🏽 He expressed his delight in the programme and commended its positive impact on youth and women, particularly in creating dignified and sustainable jobs. 👩🏽‍🌾👨🏽‍🌾💼

The team was warmly received by the host farms, who enthusiastically showcased the progress and remarkable growth of their poultry operations. 🐥📈 Their commitment and diligence were evident in the improvements observed on-site.

A key highlight of the visit was the interactive sessions with the LMAs. 🗣️✨ They openly shared their poultry journeys — detailing how the initiative has positively influenced their income levels and inspired them to venture confidently into independent poultry production. 💪🏽🐔 Their stories reflected resilience, optimism, and a renewed sense of purpose. 🌱

The team also took the opportunity to provide further guidance on best practices in poultry management and biosecurity measures. 📘🛡️ In addition, LMAs were encouraged to adopt the AkokoTakra Livestock Farming App 📱 to enhance record-keeping, monitor daily operations effectively, and improve overall farm management through digital solutions.

The visit was both insightful and rewarding for the team. 🙌🏽 Beyond monitoring progress, it reaffirmed the transformative impact of our interventions and strengthened our resolve to continue supporting communities across the region. 🌍✨

👏 Agro Innova Ltd continues to deepen its footprint in the Volta Region of Ghana, with targeted support to over 1,000 young female poultry in the South Tongu District. 👩‍🦰🐓🐥

🤝 Through this intervention, beneficiaries have received essential production inputs including day-old chicks, feeders, drinkers, heat lamps, quality feed, and veterinary drugs — equipping them with the resources needed to improve productivity and build sustainable poultry business. 🐥🐓💊🌾

📈 This expansion reflects our broader vision: to position the as a leading poultry hub in , with the vision to support 10,000 young female farmers and youth, and create over 10,000 jobs in the Volta Region. By and with the right tools, training, and market access, we are not only providing jobs and making lives better, but also contributing to national efforts to reduce the country’s reliance on imported poultry products.

Last week, Agro Innova Ltd took part in a significant groundbreaking ceremony where, together with Farmerline, it received over 250 locally fabricated post-harvest threshers from the World Food Programme (WFP) Ghana.

The event brought together key stakeholders, including the Country Director of WFP, Aurore Rusiga, the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. Eric Opoku, Mr. Moses Mallaghan, CEO of Agro Innova, the Deputy Minister for Trade and Agribusiness, Hon. Sampson Ahi, Gratis Foundation, traditional authorities, smallholder farmers, and development partners.

The threshers will support more than 6,000 and groups, largely and , in the Northern Region of who are engaged in maize and soybean production. By improving access to post-harvest equipment, this initiative is expected to reduce losses, enhance productivity, and strengthen livelihoods across farming communities.

Agro Innova expresses its sincere appreciation to the World Food Programme for its continued and commitment to smallholder farmers and advancing sustainable agriculture in Ghana.

🌽🫘Manual threshing remains a major barrier for many smallholder farmers: it is time-consuming, labour-intensive, produces lower-quality grain, and can drive losses of up to 20% of value for maize and soyabeans. To address this, Agro Innova Ltd has deployed its first batch of multipurpose threshers in the Gushegu District, Northern Region, designed to serve 15 communities across the and value chains.

📈 𝑻𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒘𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆, 𝒇𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒓-𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒕:

🤝 Higher grain quality that are cleaner, less damaged and commands premium market prices.

🤝 Reduces post-harvest loss and quality degradation that typically accompany manual threshing.

🤝 Income uplift - smallholder farmers can realise up to 20% additional income on the same harvest by accessing better prices for premium-grade grain.

🤝 Digital Inclusion - smallholder farmers can access our services through Agro Innova's digital platform by dialing *713*83 # on any mobile phone device.

🤝 Time & labour savings - quicker processing frees up labour for other farm activities

🤝Community reach & sustainability - the threshers are managed to serve 15 neighbouring communities, paired with operator training, maintenance support and market linkages to ensure long-term benefit.
