This one is personal.

Our team at Ghana Digital Centres Ltd (GDCL) recently had the honour of walking alongside a group of incredible women through our Click-To-Cargo programme, equipping them with the digital skills to become exporters and step confidently into global trade.

The truth is, they did not need much. Just access, tools and someone to believe in them first.

Because an Africa that leaves its women behind is not truly rising.

This Africa Day, I celebrate every one of them.

On this Africa Day, 25th May, I reflect on what it truly means to build a digitally sovereign Africa.

At Ghana Digital Centres Ltd (GDCL), our mission is deeply aligned with the African Union's Agenda 2063 the blueprint for a prosperous, integrated and digitally connected continent.

The digital economy is already the fastest growing sector across Africa. And yet, millions of our people remain unconnected, underserved and excluded from the opportunities that technology affords. This is both our challenge and our calling.

GDCL was established not simply to provide digital infrastructure, but to spark a movement. A movement towards homegrown digital solutions, local content, accessible connectivity and a workforce equipped to thrive in a knowledge economy.

To our team: your work matters more than you know. Every centre built, every citizen trained, every business digitised is a brick in the foundation of a stronger Ghana and a stronger Africa.
