ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE PASSING OF NANA SERWAH GODSON-AMAMOO
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nana Serwah Godson-Amamoo which incident occurred on March 28, 2024.
Nana Serwah was the lead partner in the firm’s Natural Resources and Extractive Industries Practice Group and a key member of the Public Sector Advisory and Government Business Practice Group. She had over nineteen (19) years’ practice experience and represented our clients on many deals and related sectors.
Nana also served on the Technical Advisory Committee of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority and on the board of United Way Ghana.
A book of condolence will be open at the firm’s Accra offices from Wednesday April 3, 2024 between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm each weekday for friends and sympathizers to pay tribute to Nana.
We will communicate the funeral arrangements as soon as the family provides the details. In the meantime, we request that her family is accorded the privacy needed in this time of grief.
AB and David Africa joins the family and sympathizers the world over in mourning her loss. Nana Serwah will always be in our hearts.

Isabel Boaten, Managing Partner (Ghana), was the recipient of the coveted Robert Legh Excellence In Leadership Award at the 2023 Africa Legal Awards held at the Hilton Sandton in Johannesburg, South Africa on 1st September, 2023.
This special award category is conferred by an international panel of judges from their independent assessment without any submission from the awardee recipient. It is named after Robert Legh, former Senior Partner and Chairman of Bowmans where he worked for 35 years until his passing in 2021.

AB & David Africa in partnership with KCB Bank Uganda hosted a panel on Trade Disruptions and Strategies to Navigate Trade Barriers in Africa at the Annual Law Conference of Uganda Law Society.
Senior Partner, David Ofosu-Dorte was the main speaker and the panelists were Thula Kaira (Head, Regulation & Competition, AB & David Zambia), Dr Richard Adu-Gyamfi (Senior Advisor and Consultant, Afro Champions Initiative), Dr Henry Onoria Knowledge (Partner at ALP Advocates) and Ms Meg Jaguay (Chairperson of the American Chamber of Commerce, Uganda).
Exporting Goods Under The AfCFTA
As the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) begins to accelerate, the Africa Trade Team at AB & David Africa outlines practical steps for those seeking to navigate the maze and export under the AFCFTA.

Joel Osekeny, ABD Uganda Associate moderated the Insolvency Law Conference organised by the Uganda Law Society.
The event had industry expert speakers & panelists discuss interim protection orders for corporate insolvency, insolvency & employment rights, emerging opportunities (conflict management, crypto & asset tracing), stakeholder management and reporting & accounting and among others.
The conference also had a panel discussion to mentor students at the National Career Inspiration Symposium in pursuing legal related careers.
