Jake Manickam, an ADES Supply Chain HR officer, made a big commitment to the Leukaemia Foundation last week. He participated in the World’s Greatest Shave to raise money for families facing leukemia.
We were honored to host his haircut event at one of our ADES EXPRESS sites.
This isn't the first time that HP1 have hosted a fundraising event for World’s Greatest Shave. Last year they used their 10th birthday celebration as an opportunity to support the . Volunteers, including ADES EXPRESS Supply Chain General Manager Tim Roberts, either colored their hair or shaved it all off.
ADES EXPRESS Supply Chain are proud of Jake and everyone who supported him. Congratulations on achieving your goal!

Today is the anniversary of one of the seminal days of Ghanaian nationalism, 28th February, when, seventy-four (74) years ago, the infamous British colonial police officer, Superintendent Imray, ordered the shooting of and personally shot, at Christiansborg Crossroads, Sergeant Adjetey, Corporal Attipoe and Private Odartey Lamptey, members of a group of unarmed ex-service men, who were on a peaceful march to Christiansborg Castle to present their grievances to the Colonial Governor, Sir Gerald Hallen Creasy.

The senseless killings led to widespread anger, disturbances and riots in Accra and around the country, and, coupled with the formation of the United Gold Coast Convention, UGCC of blessed memory, the first nationalist party of our country, gave a great boost to the nationalist movement, which had been launched in Saltpond some six (6) months earlier on 4th August 1947.

The British colonial authorities held the leaders of the UGCC, the legendary ‘Big Six’, J.B. Danquah, Emmanuel Obetsebi-Lamptey, Edward Akufo-Addo, Ebenezer Ako Adjei, William Ofori-Atta and Kwame Nkrumah, responsible for the riots, and detained them. Thereafter, the Watson Commission, under the chairmanship of the Scottish solicitor, Aitken Watson, was established by the British Labour Government of Prime Minister Clement Atlee to inquire into the circumstances of the riots, and make appropriate recommendations for the future of the country.

Much of the subsequent architecture leading to the grant of independence on 6th March 1957 emanated from the proceedings and recommendations of the Watson Commission. So, we, who are their beneficiaries, can never forget the ultimate sacrifices of these three (3) great patriots and ex-servicemen.

Did you know that Madagascar has over 200,000 species of plants and animals that don’t exist anywhere else in the world? Yet, more than 90% of Madagascar’s original forests have been destroyed, displacing entire animal species and taking away the community’s ability to live off the land.

In response, Eden Reforestation Projects initiated the Madagascar Reforestation Project in 2007 and has now successfully planted more than 380 million mangrove and dry deciduous trees.

This Christmas, ADES EXPRESS is donating to the project to help reforest and revive natural habitats for endangered and endemic animal species, and assist impoverished communities.

We have had a DAILY scheduled pickup from the wonderful ADES EXPRESS for 3 years now….They were too afraid to come today. (Like many others) They literally just get too lazy to come do their job. So all the employees had to put orders in their vehicles to take to the post office. We love making ADES EXPRESS mad at us. 👌🏻 Means we’re doing something right. 😎
