This week, the HFL and Oak team joined industry leaders, investors and advisors in Berlin for SuperReturn 2026, bringing together the global venture capital and private equity community for a packed week of insights, conversations and new opportunities.
To kick things off, we were delighted to host our SuperWurst social on Monday evening alongside Osborne Clarke and YPSILON GROUP. Against the backdrop of Berlin's famous S-Bahn arches, guests enjoyed great food, sunshine and, most importantly, the chance to connect with familiar faces from across the industry.
A big thank you to the team that organised it and everyone who joined us to help create such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
We're proud to have partnered with OC and YPSILON GROUP for a successful event and to have been part of a week that continues to bring together some of the most influential voices in venture and private capital.

Our team from HFL & Oak Group recently took part in last week’s first Carey Olsen Administrators’ Cup series event at Fukku 🍣
Alanna S, Louise and Monica got hands-on with a sushi-making experience, judged by Sam Jarrold, alongside a blind sake tasting challenge. Teams competed to earn points towards the overall league table and we’re proud to have secured third place!
A big thank you to Carey Olsen for hosting such a fantastic event. We’re already looking forward to the next one in the series.

We’re excited to welcome Anna Botzenhardt to HFL as a Client Services Director in our Private Client team.
Anna brings extensive experience in administering fiduciary structures for high-net-worth individuals and families, with particular expertise in cross-border tax planning and family governance.

A huge thank you to Guernsey Alzheimer's Association for hosting such an insightful workshop for HFL and Oak employees last Friday.
We learned about the five types of dementia, how to spot the signs and, most importantly, stepped into the shoes of someone living with dementia.
Through the use of dementia suits, we experienced first hand the challenges many people face every day. From tying shoelaces and walking to putting on a coat, simple tasks became much more difficult. Alongside this, we wore glasses that mimic different eye conditions, used ear plugs and experienced reduced sensory input to better understand the effects of cognitive decline.
These suits are part of an incredible initiative by Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association, working in conjunction with Admiral Nurses and Dementia Friendly Guernsey, to build empathy and improve care across the island.
It is experiences like this that truly shift perspective.
