Pride of Guernsey Awards ‘EXCEPTIONALLY KIND’ taxi driver Kevin Gaudion has been nominated for the Medical Specialist Group-sponsored Emergency Hero of the Year award.

This Morning I was contacted by th BBC who informed me I have been nominated for an award For Making a Difference to islanders here in Guernsey by my continued fundraising effort of installing Mobile Defibrillators in public service vehicles.
I feel very honoured and humbled to be one of the finalists for 2022 and I continue to fundraise for this important cause in the hope that these amazing pieces of equipment could potentially one day safe a life.

Alpine Taxis are pleased to announce that both vehicles are now fitted with Mobile Automated Defibrillators in case of an emergency within our community….
This is the first ever taxi in Guernsey fitted with a device such as this and we are so very thankful to the support and donations that we have received so far…
Our initial target was £948.00 but we have surpassed this and currently have raised just under £4000 which is incredible!
We have fitted an additional 3 defibrillators in public service vehicles and continue to fundraise and add more to various vehicles that would be able to assist our community in case of an emergency.

Some amazing news!!!!
We have been overwhelmed with the support from the general public in our initiative to fundraise and purchase a defibrillator to fit in one of our public service vehicles…
Our initial target was £948.00
We have surpassed this and have to date raised just under £4000.00 which is absolutely amazing and we are very grateful for all the support we have received!
Last night we held the first ever training of taxi drivers to use these defibrillators and to learn how to deal with a cardiac arrest, many thanks to the Cardiac Action Group for the training and Mike Froome for the informative evening we had..
I can now tell you that as of Tuesday 19th April 4 public service vehicles will be fitted with a mobile defibrillator which could assist any member of our community in an emergency situation.
On behalf of myself and Tilly I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you once again for your amazing support and we won’t stop here… I continue to fundraise and hopefully by the end of 2022 we will have more vehicles fitted with this life saving device…
