Last year, a group of volunteer vets from Poland visited us in Martvili. During our neutering campaign, we found Baby, hiding out in a ditch. He was scared of everything and everyone, and clearly hadn't been eating well.

After neutering, we couldn't put him back on the street — but we couldn't find anyone to adopt him either.

It was Konrad, one of the volunteer vets, who decided to take him. Today, Konrad and Baby are living happily in Poland and are the best of friends. Thank you! ❤️

Today, Medea came to Tbilisi for tests. As you know, we're treating her for heartworm. She's completed the preparatory treatment phase, and it's now time to start the injections—which means she needs to be temporarily fostered in Tbilisi (at a higher cost) and brought to the clinic several times a month.

Today's tests came to around 380 GEL. The Zugdidi–Tbilisi taxi costs 400 GEL (and she'll need at least two more trips). Fostering will likely cost GEL400-500. All in, next month's foster care, food, treatment, and transport will exceed 2,000 GEL—and we can't manage it without your support.

It's a wrap on our neutering campaign in Tskaltubo, where we neutered 453 animals in total!

The biggest thank you goes to our dearest Czech friends at Psí tuláci z Gruzie, who raised the funds, mobilized the team, and came on-site to help alongside other Czech volunteers. You are true heroes!

We are endlessly grateful to our volunteer vets who travelled from Czechia and Slovakia and worked tirelessly all day for six days to neuter as many animals as possible. Thank you to our Zugdidi vet who joined the campaign to help make it all possible, and to the vets from Kivi clinic who assisted for a day.

A big thank you to our Georgian volunteers who mobilized local families, whether from a distance or on the ground.

🚨 OIPA Raises Concerns Over Stray Animal Management in Georgia

OIPA ETS has sent an official letter to Georgian authorities and diplomatic representations, expressing concerns regarding the current management of stray animals in the country and requesting greater transparency and clarification on the situation.

📍 Based on reports and documented evidence, several issues have been identified, including:
* animals taken for sterilisation not being returned to their original habitat
* repeated capture of already sterilised dogs
* relocation of animals to unsuitable areas
* lack of information regarding the whereabouts of many animals

In its letter, OIPA has requested that the competent authorities:

* ensure that animals taken for sterilisation are returned to their original habitat
* avoid the unnecessary capture of already sterilised animals
* provide clear and transparent information on the whereabouts of animals
