curated by Alexander Florensky LICHT GALLERY opened in Tbilisi in June of 2022.

Its organizers and owners are art collectors Rita and Dani Licht, who moved from Jerusalem to Tbilisi two years ago. The most important point in the creation of the gallery was the long-term friendship of Rita and Dani with the artist Alexander Florensky, who has been living between St. Petersburg and Tbilisi since 2008. Ahead of the exhibition “New Works” by Tea Ebanoidze, opening on May 30th at 19:00, we are sharing a few facts about the artist.

Tea Ebanoidze was born in 1975 in the village of Tsebelda (Abkhazia). During the war in Abkhazia in 1993, her family was forced to leave their home and moved to Tbilisi.

Tea drew a lot as a child but never studied painting and is a self-taught artist. In 2019 she started painting as art therapy and worked especially hard during the 2020–2021 pandemic.

Tea names Van Gogh and Pirosmani as the artists who influenced her most. The artist works with gouache on paper.

Tea Ebanoidze lives and works in Tbilisi. Her first exhibition took place at LICHT GALLERY in spring 2024.

All works presented at the exhibition were created in 2026.

On May 30th at 19:00, LICHT GALLERY opens “New Works” an exhibition of the contemporary Georgian artist Tea Ebanoidze. Curated by Alexander Florensky.

Tea Ebanoidze was born in 1975 in the village of Tsebelda (Abkhazia). During the war in Abkhazia in 1993, her family was forced to leave their home and moved to Tbilisi.
