13 years ago today, we lost Captain Alex Rust.
Crazy how time flies… and how deeply we still miss the legend who inspired this story, this mission, and so many people to dream bigger. 🌎⛵
Alex believed life was meant to be lived boldly. He chased adventure, embraced the unknown, and inspired others to take that first step.
So today, take the extra step!

Youth Day is the mission.

Because all it takes is one moment! A kid stepping onto a boat for the first time, seeing the horizon, feeling what’s possible can change everything.
That’s what Alex believed in. That life doesn’t have to follow a script. That you can choose adventure. That you can dream bigger and go chase it.
Every regatta, every mile, every bit of chaos… it all leads here.
The final chapter of regattas this season starts in 2 days in Christmas Cove! Set a course for the VIs, time is running out.
The final Chasing Bubbles Regatta of the season starts NEXT WEEK, and we’re bringing this beautiful mess into the US Virgin Islands where it belongs…

It all kicks off in Christmas Cove, USVI on May 13th, where we’ll all tie up, crack something cold, and get this floating circus underway in proper style. Huge shoutout to our friends at , .usvi, and for helping make this one happen, for ensuring nobody has to pretend they meal planned, and for bringing the live music that’ll keep this thing rolling well past the point of “probably should call it a night.”
The racing will be wild. The challenges will be questionable. The stories will absolutely get better every time they’re told.
And then… the grand finale.
This award ceremony is shaping up to be the highlight of the entire season. The kind of night where the drinks flow, the laughs get louder, the trophies get handed out, and everyone remembers exactly why this whole thing exists in the first place. Adventure. Community. Chaos. Purpose. The kind of ending Captain Alex would’ve raised a glass to.
One last run, gang. Let’s finish this season the way Alex would’ve wanted… full throttle and unforgettable

In the absence of Bubbles, the party with a purpose hasn’t missed a beat.
That says everything.
While she’s getting the love she deserves, this wild squad has kept Captain Alex’s spirit charging full speed through the islands the only way that makes sense… loud, salty, slightly unhinged, and with a whole lot of heart. You’ve kept the raft-ups rowdy, the race challenges ridiculous, the stories flowing, and most importantly, the mission alive. Every sailor who has shown up, stepped up, and kept this thing rolling has done Alex and the Chasing Bubbles Foundation proud.
We’ve been with you in spirit through every chaotic start line, every laugh-until-it-hurts award ceremony, and every completely unnecessary but somehow mandatory race challenge.
And don’t get too comfortable just yet… this story isn’t finished.
We’ve got one more regatta coming in hot next month in the USVI, so don’t go far, squadron. The horizon’s still calling.

The BVI Regatta kicks off next week, and this one hits different.
These are the waters where Alex bought Bubbles… and where he returned after circumnavigating the globe.
Full circle. Full send.
We’ll kick things off with a Floatchella in Virgin Gorda Sound, then it’s on to a few days of racing, legendary anchorages, and the exact kind of beautiful chaos Alex would’ve approved of.
And yes… we’ve got ONE berth left for just $500 aboard .sailing. That’s right. One. So if you’ve been waiting for a sign, this is it.

Then… the US Virgin Islands

We’ll be closing out our season inside their world-class event at Yacht Haven Grande, surrounded by some of the most beautiful charter yachts on the planet.
VIPCA isn’t just hosting us — they’re elevating the entire finale. From the venue… to the energy… to the people who make the Virgin Islands one of the greatest sailing destinations in the world.
We’ll cap it all off with a Chasing Bubbles Award Ceremony, right in the heart of the show.
