Congratulations to our Year 7/8 Mixed Tag Rugby (T1) team, who were crowned Wolverhampton City Festival Champions after an outstanding performance throughout the competition.

The team won all five of their matches, demonstrating excellent teamwork, skill, and determination. Their attacking rugby was particularly impressive, with the team scoring an incredible 27 tries across the festival while conceding just 4.

The students represented the school superbly both on and off the field, showing great sportsmanship and resilience throughout the day. Their unbeaten record and dominant performances were fully deserving of the tournament title.

Well done to all the players involved on a fantastic achievement and a memorable day of rugby success.

On Sunday, Highfields own Sue Sahota and a number of other members of staff, took part in in Race for Life at West Park.

We all know someone whose life has been affected by cancer, making this cause especially meaningful. So far they have raised an impressive £805, helping to fund vital research that will improve treatments and support those affected by cancer.

We are incredibly proud of Sue and all the staff who participated in this inspiring event and thank everyone who has supported their fundraising efforts.

Our Year 10 students had an inspiring visit to Gloucester University last week!
During the day, students developed important life skills by learning how to budget and manage finances, as well as creating realistic weekly timetables to prepare for future study and independence. They also enjoyed a tour of the university campus and took part in an engaging Q&A session, where they had the opportunity to ask current students about university life, courses, accommodation and what to expect after school.
A fantastic day full of learning, aspiration and future planning!

To mark Refugee Week, we are reflecting on how our own courage to show simple kindnesses can make the world a little better.
At Highfields, we are proud of the diverse community we have built together and hope that everyone feels safe, valued and welcome. Small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact, helping to create a sense of belonging and understanding for all.
This year's Refugee Week theme is beautifully illustrated by the talented Quentin Blake, whose series of drawings highlights how simple gestures can make a big difference in someone's life.
Let's continue to celebrate diversity, show compassion, and build a community where everyone feels they belong.
