VW Golf R – Stage 1 ECU & TCU Tune 🔥

Today we had a VW Golf R in for a custom Stage 1 ECU and TCU tune. It's becoming increasingly rare to see one of these completely stock, so it was great to establish a genuine baseline before making any changes.

Starting from a completely stock setup, the car produced:

✅ 309.8 HP
✅ 393.3 Nm

After applying our custom calibration and carrying out a few refinements, the final results were:

🚀 361.9 HP (+52.1 HP)
🚀 534.7 Nm (+141.4 Nm)

The gains speak for themselves, with significantly improved power and torque right across the rev range, resulting in a much stronger and more responsive driving experience.

This vehicle was tuned using Autotuner, allowing us to log and analyse data before and after the calibration to ensure safe and consistent results.

We also used our GYS battery stabiliser, an essential piece of equipment when carrying out professional ECU and TCU tuning.

We're excited to be hosting our annual TopGear Tuning Dealer Day on Wednesday 2nd September at Donington Park Circuit.

Whether you'd like to take your own car out on track or simply come along and enjoy a fantastic day, there's something for everyone. Meet dealers from across the UK, catch up with fellow enthusiasts, and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by great cars and great company.

We'll also be offering passenger rides in the Radical SR3 XXR, run by the University of Wolverhampton Racing team, giving attendees the chance to experience this incredible machine firsthand.

It's set to be a brilliant day packed with track action, networking, demonstrations, and plenty of opportunities to connect with the
automotive community.
