Thought i'de share a few pics of what andeejay electrical has been upto this week !
Extremely busy with rewires, rcd faults, board changes, fans, switches and more !

No calls or messages like " can I pick your brain" or "any chance you can pop and take a look"
If your other half decides to install a new shower or security light and he blows the power, dont call me.
If you decide to fit a banging sound system in your car and you're stumped at why it's making a weird noise, dont call me......

Another old board change today.
Previous original one had rcd, but didn't work upon fault conditions. Also 2 on the mcbs were seized on.
to the rescue!
Full test on property, all circuits tested lovely. Had to add an earth bond to the gas to make it compliant.
Job done ✔️

2 separate jobs today for faulty sockets.
First one, the tumble dryer in an extension lead, ABSOLUTE NO NO !
This is the result, plug gets hot, socket gets hot, melt together, disaster!
Never plug appliance into extension leads.

Second job, decorative fire had a faulty plug that melted the socket. Possible cause was loose 13amp fuse.

Always check !
If there is a weird smell, it's normally a sign that something is overloading and burning.
If in doubt, CALL ME OUT ! 😉

Local company wanted power to their new spray booth extractor a wall mount 3phase outlet fitting.

Let's talk smoke alarms !
Every house should have them. Do they work though?
Mains or battery powered. They all have an expiry date believe it or not.
After the date has expired, the senors inside that do the dececting magic start to deteriorate and could miss a fire!
Check yours by simply looking at the sticker on the side, inside or the rear.
You may be surprised on how out of date they are !
Here, I found 3 dead mains powered units with power off, no back up batteries and expiry date of 2018!
Replaced with brand new linked units. Tested, re tested, tested again (there were 3 😁)

Do you have old halogen security lights similar to these ? We call them kebab warmers as they get ridiculously hot. They are also very high in power consumption with 500w lamps!
We no longer change lamps on these, they go straight in the skip and are replaced with A++ rated led units.
This customers old lights failed years ago, and along with dangerously installed cable, we fitted the new SAXBY led pir 50w.
All safe and a happy customer 😀

Another "can't see it from my house" job....
So called sparkys leaving s**t like this in an accessible area near a loft hatch.
"Put some insulation over it, they will never know"
Bloody cowboys !
