"In my initial coaching session I was really surprised how Rebi helped me scope how to move on from some difficult team dynamics at work.
Rebi kept me focused on nudging things forward, so that I had a plan of positive actions to take away."

"I appreciated the space Rebi created for me to verbally process complex relationships, so that I could name some of my blindspots and put together a timeline of opportunities for future collaborative working. It was so helpful!"

Values blog continued...
"Here’s a few examples - do I go to my friend’s mum’s funeral which involved taking time out of work for both of us so I could go and Jack could look after Simeon? Yes. Because we have a value of being present for our friends in moments of celebration and grief. The decision isn’t should I go but more how are we going to make that happen?
Another example - do we go to church this morning even though we’re really tired and grumpy? Yes. Why? Because we’ve already made a value that showing up and being part of our church community is something we want to do, so if we can go we do.
I wonder what decisions could you make easier by stepping back and thinking about your values?
If you want a space to think this through more purposefully - why not try a coaching session?"

From the Values blog...
"I love Aldi and do you know why? Because they’ve taken (most) of the decision making out of my food shop. If I want pasta, I just grab the pasta, if I want baked beans, I buy baked beans - for the most part there are only ever one or two options of each food item and this makes the amount of decisions I have to make so much less. I’m so used to this way of shopping now that I venture out to a big supermarket is actually, though slightly thrilling (!), actually a bit much! It involves far too many decisions. Making decisions can be exhausting.
So I wonder how you make decisions? Do you procrastinate in the hope the ‘right’ decisions become obvious? Do you ask all of your friends and family what they would do in the hope that someone else might make the decision for you? In the busy-ness of life it’s natural I think for us to find ways of making decisions less tiring...'

Jack | Joy : I’m not a big fan of the kind of in-your-face kind of joy. To me it feels too much. Christmas films or musicals are the worst for this, generally, all a bit too resolved and tidy. A bit too gleeful. I’ve been on a journey with joy over the last few years. I’m learning to lean into it more. The Bible describes joy as fruit, and it’s listed alongside peace as one of the signs of Spirit’s work in us. What does joy have to do with peace?
Well, I think about it like this: peace-joy. This isn’t me doing exegesis, the Bible uses two separate words. Peace-joy is that ease – that recognition of my place in the universe as a creature, and that state of being known and found in Christ.
Peace-joy is a quietness. A stillness. An abiding. An un-hurriedness. Joy then ceases to be some in-your-face glee, and instead is able to be a posture. Joy becomes a state rather than a feeling.
I’m still figuring it out!

Feeling very grateful for a year of two halves - returning to work, picking up existing contracts, saying hello to new ones and learning to run a business as new parents has certainly been an adventure!
We're very grateful for all the learning along the way and excited for the new and continuing things 2024 holds.
But for now, here's to being present on the sofas, around the tables and in the homes of friends and family over the next few weeks as we celebrate the hope of Jesus.
Peace and joy to you.
See you in 2024 🎉

Jack | This word has stuck with me since I was pretty young. To be transformed, or to undergo transformation, is about being changed, re-shaped or re-moulded in some way.
In many ways, we are, as humans, constantly be shaped by the things around us, but the word transformation to me suggests something more active that this being something that happens to us. Rather, I think of transformation as a process that we step into, or maybe, that we opt in to.
Transformation isn’t something that just happens. Yes, we might be buffed and battered by life, and this may change us, but transformation looks like taking action with the express purpose of being changed.
What I have experienced in my relationship with Jesus is that transformation is part of the deal – by opting in to relationship we also opt in to transformation, we opt in to being changed.

Anyone else find it impossible to think about the next few months at this time of year? It's like it's around a bend in a different kind of way than the rest of the year.
A colleague said it's like we have to lay it all down, to then decide what we pick up again. That felt profound.
Praying in our laying down over the next few weeks we have wisdom to know what to pick up as we enter a new year.
On a lighter note, this lovely calendar in our newly arranged office space is making it easier to embrace a new year soon - 👌🏻

Rebi | At school, my PE teacher often commented on my 'enthusiasm for the team' - by which they meant that my skills on the pitch were pretty non-existent but I was quite good on the side-lines! I've seen this play out lots of contexts and I feel like claiming this word, helps me remember my gift of encouragement and cheering others on.
Whether that's in my local church context or in a coaching conversation or even in my friendships, I love getting alongside people and cheering them on, on their journey.
How could you cheer someone on today?
