What a fantastic evening at the Renewable Energy Awards in London, held at the Sheraton Hotels & Resorts Park Lane, opposite Buckingham Palace.

We’re incredibly proud to have been named finalists in two categories:

• Collaboration of the Year (alongside our partners at Grundfos)

and

• Accelerating the Clean Energy Transition

While we sadly didn’t scoop a win this time, out of the hundreds of entries from across the whole decarbonisation industry, reaching the final five finalists is an achievement we’re really proud of and a reflection of the hard work, innovation, and dedication of everyone inour team.

The room was filled with some of the biggest names in renewable energy, making it an honour to be recognised alongside so many organisations driving the industry forward.

A special mention to Ben Duckworth, Rich Cartwright and James Johnson for representing Heat Engineer Software on the night and for working through their sore heads today! 🍷

Congratulations to all the winners and finalists. We’re excited to keep pushing forward and playing our part! 🔥⚒️

Great to have Simon Drury visit us to carry out a Pulse air permeability test.

At Heat Engineer Software, we did this specifically to improve our software by gaining a deeper understanding of how air permeability affects heat loss calculations and the overall sizing of heating systems.

We expected a result of around 8–9 m³/h·m² at 50Pa, but the actual result came back at 10.33 m³/h·m² at 50Pa.

It’s a great reminder that simple assumptions can easily lead to inaccurate results. The more we understand real world building performance, the better we can make our software for accurate heat loss calculations and better heating system design.

We also experimented with different setups to compare results, which made the exercise even more valuable and helped us understand how testing conditions can influence the data.

It was also a brilliant learning experience for my son Reuben, who is nearly finished with his Level 2 plumbing course. He took away a valuable lesson from Simon on Pulse testing and the importance of understanding air permeability properly.

Big thanks to Simon for sharing his knowledge and helping us deepen our understanding.

We’re finalists - TWICE!

🤞

We’re delighted to share that Heat Engineer Software has been shortlisted as a finalist in not one, but TWO categories at the British Renewable Energy Awards 2026 🎉

🏆 Accelerating Clean Energy Transition
🏆 Collaboration of the Year (with )

Being recognised by the Renewable Energy Association alongside so many innovative organisations across the renewable energy sector is something we’re incredibly proud of.

This recognition reflects the hard work, innovation, and commitment of our entire team, as well as the strength of our partnerships as we continue helping accelerate the transition to low-carbon heating.

A huge thank you to everyone involved, and congratulations to all the other finalists.

We’re looking forward to celebrating in London with the industry in June! ⚡🌍

A great day at last weeks GSAP South Midlands stakeholder event, bringing together organisations from across the region to discuss the future of green skills and training.

Our Training Manager, Asa McDonald, delivered a presentation focused on the importance of industry knowledge, innovation, and supporting the transition to a greener future within the heating sector.

It was fantastic to see so many businesses and stakeholders collaborating to share insight, explore opportunities, and help shape the future of green skills.

Thanks to the Green Skills Advisory Panel for hosting such an engaging and informative event. 👏
