New Yatt RDA

This week we launched Tea with a Pony here at New Yatt RDA.

These sessions create a calm, welcoming space for people living with dementia and other long term conditions - a chance to relax, connect and simply enjoy the moment.

🐴 95% of participants tell us they feel calmer and more focused during sessions.

Behind each of these moments are our volunteers who help to make it possible, creating spaces where connection, confidence and community can grow.

It’s often the smallest moments that mean the most!

Our Saturday PM volunteers are an enthusiastic and eclectic mix of adults, DofE students, and young helpers some of whom started as DofE and decided they liked to stay. We all work together with our collective skills to run two sessions for our RDA riders.

Let’s all give a big thank you to our Saturday morning dream team. We are a wide range of ages with a wide range of experience but everyone brings something and gains something from being at the yard on a Saturday morning. There is always something that makes us smile. We have a fab group of riders who are all progressing so well with their riding and they make us so proud. Finally we are really grateful to our milk and biscuit monitor and our fantastic tea maker!!!!!😊😊 🐴

Thursday morning Team deserve a huge Thank you from us all - Janet Jiffa Ruth and Mary have totted up a total of 90 years volunteering here at New Yatt RDA! Every week they help riders and our horses to enjoy a busy varied morning of activities including some coffee and cake!

Did you know that helping others is a great way to improve your sense of worth. When you volunteer, you make new connections, learn new skills as well as support those living in your local community. A study by the British Medical Journal found that people who volunteered regularly have higher levels of wellbeing than those who never volunteered.

Our Wednesday team are dedicated to running our morning sessions and have the most amazing can do attitude. Thank you to you all for showing up every week in all weathers and for doing what you do 🙏🏻.

The Monday pm team go above and beyond every week. Our volunteers come for an epic 3 ½ hours in the evenings, all year round, in wind, rain, snow, and recent boiling hot sun. We run three sessions which means ALL of our 6 horse are frequently needed to be included, so they are very busy workers! Our helpers age range from 15 to 71 and they are all special and very much appreciated by us all at NYRDA. Thank you for all you do, because of you, we discover what is possible.
