I’ve been making some tough decisions.

I am closing the diary...

I have battled with this decision for several months but have finally taken the plunge and I will be closing my cake diary until January 2025.

This is an extremely sad thing to do because I have been making cakes since I was a kid. I love baking. It’s the one thing that I am really, really good at.......

I love making people happy through cake. The look on a persons face when they see their cake for the first time is priceless. It’s everything a cake maker works for.

I had to make the decision to go back to work on a full time basis and this has meant I don’t have the time, or energy, I used to have to make cakes with such intricate designs. This has resulted in taking less and less orders.

The stress of trying to do a full time job and run a cake business has taken a toll on my health and wellbeing.

I have never been a fan of social media, and have struggled with it every day. It’s become so big a part of the business that I can’t keep it going.

I only ever wanted to make cakes but sadly this isn’t possible in the current cake market.
So ...

From 15th August I am no longer taking bookings for cakes.

If you have already booked a cake, and paid the deposit, your booking is safe and will still go ahead.

If you still want me to make a cake for your occasion between now and January, you have until 14th August @23.59 to book it, with a deposit.

I will review everything again in January 2025 so I hope to see you all then.

She has a lovely little boy, a boisterous dog and loves theatre.

Sarah sent me the attached photos and I used those to design her cake.

Her Sister was absolutely thrilled with the cake.

Based in Warrington, I love making unique and imaginative cakes for your events & celebrations. Seeing the look on your faces makes all the hard work in the kitchen worthwhile!

Because each of my cakes are bespoke, I do only take on a limited number of orders per week and it’s never too early to book. Right now I’m taking orders up until end of August 2024.

I’d love to have my own separate cake kitchen one day where I can hide away and bake my heart out, but for now this is where I work and I love it 👩‍🍳

What's the best part of the cake for you?

I love to bake everything but decorating the cake at the end is the best part. It's my chance to let the creativity flow.

The part I love to make the most are the figures that sit on the cake. Whether they are fictional characters or the birthday boy or girl, I love them equally. You can really make a model come alive with little details from quirks to physical features, that something that says to you "oh that looks so much like them".

Who would you have a model made of for your next celebration cake?

The classic Victoria sponge cake was chosen, one of my most popular flavours, so I made a standard sponge and sandwiched with layers of delicious strawberry jam & buttercream.⁣⁣ I added a layer of white chocolate ganache for extra stability.⁣

⁣⁣Alix & Kieran were delighted with their cake, and so were their guest's .⁣

I usually ask for 4 weeks notice to book in a birthday cake, however I do try to accommodate all requests wherever I can.

Gazillions!!

When it comes to Minecraft cakes there are no shortcuts. Every single square was cut out and stuck on by hand.

Each if the decorations had special meaning to Marcus and they just had to be included.

All the little extra details on this cake made it so much more personal to the recipient.

From the colourful octopus to the tiny little crab, I designed this cake specifically for my customer and their celebration, helping them have an extra special day and create magical memories for one of their children ✨

How much do cakes cost?

Lets start with ingredients: Butter, sugar, eggs, flour, ganache, jam, sugarpaste, cake boards, boxes, colours, dusts, ribbon etc..

Then there is the Labour - the hours it will take to design, make, and decorate the cake. I try and pay myself a reasonable hourly rate so I can keep the business going. The biggest chunk of expense is Labour, the more complex your cake design is ,the more expensive it will be.

Every cake is started the same way, and after many years of expertise, I know how long it will take to complete. For this reason I have set a minimum order price of £150.
For wedding cakes the minimum order value is £450.
