What a lovely night for a run, tonight we took on 2 routes, a 5k down Barnsley road and up Doncaster road, or a 8.5k loop down Asdale road and onto Barnsley road. We tried to keep it simple and well lit.

Our 0-5k gang absolutely smashed their runs again tonight and they're already signing up for Wakey 10k, we can't wait to keep supporting them on their running journey.

This will be the last Tuesday evening run from the park as we move to our winter spot. We want to make sure we're as safe and visible as possible.
Look out for the change on the app and website when you book on.

We're back tomorrow for our Peel Avenue Improvers session. West Yorkshire Polices Jog On campaign will be there to run with us.

6.30pm, Holmfield Arms car park.

Morning folks, Sam here with your Tuesday social routes.
We're sticking to well lit paths now until the spring so bear with us if they feel a bit repetitive. We're also still hunting for our winter meet spot, we'll have a firm decision in the next week.

Please wear something visible too, we need to able to be seen by motorists.

Meeting at Holmfield Arms car park.
6.30pm
Book via the app or the booking link below.

There were a few sore heads in Wakefield this morning after Trinity’s Super League success yesterday but that didn’t stop 30+ folk enjoying the lovely autumn sunshine and getting out for a run.

Some did an eventful 10k, others did an action packed half and the rest powered on all the way along the canal into Leeds

Well done to Tracey who smashed her longest run today and we welcomed David for his 1st run with the club

There were loads of races today, so well done to all that took part in those. Stick your medal pics in the comments 🏅

We’re back on Tuesday for our social 5k and 7.5k runs, enjoy the rest of your weekends 🔴⚪️🔵

Mark here with your Long Run Sunday Routes

Hope this makes sense-

It’s nearly marathon time and we need to get those final long runs in, so this week we have a 10k option and an up to 16mile option

So we’ll meet at 8.30 and all run down Thornes Moor Lane and on to the canal-
Then run however far you want and when your ready turn around and head back, after 5k, 5miles, 10k, the choice is yours,
Or if you want you can run all the way to Leeds for coffee and cake with Kris and Sam

But if you want a formal 10k route then Andrew is going to have a steady one which takes in the canal and Belle vue

The run leaders are planning as follows-

Sam- run to Leeds 16miles at 7.24k pace

Mark- run to 10.5k then run back at 7.24kpace

Kris- run to Leeds 16miles 10min mile pace

Charlotte- maybe Leeds, maybe out and back at a 10mile ish pace, maybe 10k- who knows

Andrew- back of the pack 10k route as shown
Holly- Morley 10k

As always though we'll make sure nobody is left behind.

Last hill session in the park, done.

Big efforts all round for our Improvers session tonight, there was no quit, no grumbling, just showing up and getting the work done.

Special mention for Dawn tonight on her first improvers session... You did not pick a gentle one but you attacked that hill. Blooming well done.

Also big thanks to Jason for the photo, because Sam was a bit distracted and forgot to do the squad pic!

We're back on Sunday for our long run, 8.30am, Holmfield Arms car park.

It was phenomenal to see such a vibrant bunch of colourful Fordys out tonight, well done to everyone that wore hi vis and lights. Over 70 of you turned up and put in great efforts all round. Our main bunch took on 5k and 7.5k routes while our 0-5k gang did a 5 minute run in the middle of their session.

Just a reminder, please can you all make sure you're booking on to the session before you get to us. That way we're all covered by insurance.

We're also looking at our "winter car park" as it got dark very quickly tonight.

Tomorrow's improver session is middle of the park hills, it will be our last one there till the night lighten up again.

We have 5.5k and 7.5k simple routes that we’ve done before so no excuses for getting lost, I’ve even reversed them so that we go down Broadway instead of up 🥳

And this week we’ve had a request- please can we run down the canal whilst it’s still nice weather- well yes Sarah we can!

We've got 10K and 10 mile options with both doing a few k’s by the side of the Calder,

We are really short on Run Leaders this weekend due to Loch Ness Marathon so please have a proper look at the routes beforehand and get them loaded onto your phone or watch if you can.

It’s Happy New Running Age Category Day for one of our run leaders today 🥳

You’ll probably know her for her love/hate relationship with hills 🗻
You may have ‘experienced’ her wicked sense of humour or she may have unwittingly cajoled you into signing up for a race that you had no intention to.

But you’ll definitely know her as the supportive, encouraging person that’ll run alongside you and make those miles fly by. Whether that’s chatting away at the back of a Tuesday or Sunday social run or pacing you to a new PB in a race (anything from a 5k to an Ultra!)

She was the inaugural Clubwoman of the year and I know that all the other run leaders are so glad that she decided to become part of our Run Lead team

In true running w****r style, she’s celebrating by heading off to run the Loch Ness marathon this weekend 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

So join us in wishing the happiest birthday to the ever youthful looking Charlotte Leigh 🩷💙
