🔧 Commercial dryer repair at Morley Academy

We recently attended Morley Academy after they reported that their commercial dryer wasn’t spinning.

When we arrived, we spotted something straight away — one of the machine’s feet was missing, leaving the dryer sitting off balance.

We refitted the missing foot and then stripped the dryer down to get access to the motor and pulley.

Once we got in there, we found that running the machine off balance had caused the pulley to come out of its fixing.

We refitted and secured the pulley, put everything back together and gave the dryer a full test.

✅ All sorted and the dryer is now spinning and working as it should!

It just goes to show that something as simple as a missing foot can eventually lead to a bigger problem if a machine is left running off balance.

Another commercial machine back up and running and ready to get back to work. 💪

🔥 Oven not heating up?

We recently attended an oven that had stopped heating properly.

After carrying out some checks, we found the bottom heating element had failed. Unfortunately, the failed element had also caused one of the electrical terminals to burn out.

We checked the wiring and found that one of the connectors had been damaged, so we fitted a new spade connector to that wire. We also checked the other connection and wiring, which was all in good condition. 👍

We then supplied and fitted a new bottom heating element and put everything back together.

Once the repair was complete, we tested the oven to make sure it was heating correctly and working as it should.

✅ Another oven back up and running!

🔥 Washer dryer not heating?

We recently attended a washer dryer after the customer reported that the dryer wasn’t heating up.

We found that the thermal cut-out had tripped, but there’s usually a reason why a thermal cut-out trips in the first place — simply resetting it isn’t always the answer.

So we stripped down the dryer air ducting and airflow system to get a look at the heater element and fan.

That’s where we found the problem… 👀

The airflow system was heavily clogged with fluff and debris, restricting the airflow and causing the dryer to overheat. This had caused the thermal cut-out to trip and stop the dryer from heating.

We cleaned everything out properly, making sure the heater, fan and airways were clear and able to move air as they should.

The machine was then put back together and tested to make sure the dryer was heating and operating correctly. ✅

As we head into the colder months, your washer dryer is likely to be getting used more often. Regular servicing and cleaning can help prevent issues like restricted airflow, overheating and thermal cut-outs tripping.

If your washer dryer is taking longer to dry, overheating, not heating or hasn’t been serviced for a while, it could be worth getting it checked over. 🔧

🔧 Washing machine installation

We recently got a call from a customer who had a new washing machine delivered by a retailer. The retailer was supposed to install it, but unfortunately couldn’t complete the installation due to where the machine was positioned.

So they gave us a call and we got it sorted. 👍

The installation itself was nice and straightforward and we had the machine connected, levelled and tested in no time.

Side note🤣:
Why are some new washing machines coming with inlet hoses that seem to have been designed for a washing machine sitting directly next to the tap?! 🤔

Luckily, we had a longer inlet hose already in the van, so we swapped it over rather than having the customer waiting around for another part.

Everything connected up nicely, the machine was tested and it’s now ready to get through plenty of washing! 🧺

Another job done and another customer up and running. ✅

🔧 Commercial dryer repair

We recently attended a commercial dryer after the customer reported that the drum wasn’t spinning.

After carrying out a few checks, we quickly diagnosed the problem as a faulty motor. ⚙️

While we had the dryer apart, we also noticed that the drum rollers were worn and the front and rear drum seals were also showing signs of wear.

Rather than just replacing the motor and leaving the other worn parts, we went ahead and replaced the motor, drum rollers and both drum seals at the same time.

Once everything was back together, we gave the dryer a full test to make sure the drum was turning properly and everything was working as it should.

✅ All sorted and the commercial dryer is back up and running!

Another commercial machine repaired and ready to get back to work. 💪

🔧 Beko washer dryer repair

We recently attended a Beko washer dryer after the customer noticed that there wasn’t any heat during the wash cycle.

After carrying out some checks, we diagnosed the problem as a faulty heater element. 🔥❌

We supplied and fitted a new heater element, then tested the machine to make sure it was heating correctly and running as it should.

🧹 NILFISK SW4000 service visit

We recently headed out to carry out a service and general check over a NILFISK SW4000 sweeper.

We gave the machine a good check over and found a fair bit of debris built up around the side broom and main broom hubs, so we got that all cleaned out. We also checked and cleaned the filter to make sure everything was running as it should.

While checking the machine over, we noticed the main broom is starting to wear unevenly. It’s still working, but it’s getting to the point where it will need replacing to keep the sweeper performing properly.

Apart from the worn broom, everything else was looking good and the machine is currently working well. 👍

We’ve sent the customer a quote for the replacement main broom and they’ve gone ahead and accepted it, so we’ll be back out to get that fitted.
