Is your teen starting year 11 (or year 10 and they’re keen!)? These workshops focus on GCSE assessment objectives and help students work out what they need to do to their writing to maximise marks in the exam.

Each workshop comes with an optional pre-workshop task to help prepare them for the live 60-minute workshop, and an independent exam-task to practise with afterwards.

Mics and videos are switched off and all our ideas and answers are shared in the chat box. Workshops are recorded, so they can even do the recording at your own pace instead.

History: The American Civil War Key Stage 3 Course From 1650-55, the USA tore itself apart in a vicious civil war. This course investigates the causes and consequences of the war and paints a picture of an exciting if bloody part of American history.

Geography: Hot Deserts Key Stage 3 Course Deserts are amazing places which are sometimes seen as boring expanses of nothing but sand. This course hopes to dispel that idea and show how great hot deserts really are!

Dysgraphia is not simply “messy handwriting”.

It can affect the whole process of getting thoughts onto paper — from forming letters and controlling a pencil to spelling, copying, organising written work and keeping pace in class.

For some children, writing takes far more effort than their finished work suggests. Their hand may tire quickly, written tasks may take much longer, and they may be able to explain an idea verbally with far more detail than they can put on the page.

That mismatch can be incredibly frustrating, particularly when a child knows exactly what they want to say.

As always, individual signs can occur for lots of reasons. It is the persistent pattern of difficulty and the impact on learning and everyday functioning that matters.
