🎉 Wave Vets Turns 6 This Weekend! 🎉
And honestly… what do you get a clinic that has everything? A new stethoscope? Another bucket? 🤔 Tempting.
But this year, we think we’ve absolutely nailed it.
Say hello to our brand‑new mural of the practice wonder‑dog himself — Blu — now proudly splashed across our wall in full technicolour glory.
Meanwhile, some of our lovely neighbouring practices are spending eye‑watering amounts exhibiting at the Royal Cornwall Show… and we totally get it — big tents, big banners, big budgets.
We went for big dog on a big wall instead. Much more our vibe.😂
So if you find yourself stuck in the queue for the show this week, swing by Wadebridge town centre and give us a friendly toot as you pass.
We’re just opposite the Saltbox — you literally can’t miss us… obviously.
Here’s to six years of Wave Vets, Blu, and doing things our own colourful way. 💙🐾🐶💚🌊
Massive thank you to Nathan Jaksta Art for spending 3 days in the Cornish mizzle.
*URGENT*
we have had a cat bought in from the Whitecross area of Wadebridge that is quite poorly. No collar or chip.
If you are missing a cat please get in touch.

🐾 Bella’s Beat 🫀
Bella, the mischievous Patterdale cross belonging to our Nurse/Athlete Ruth, came in last week for her own heart check-up, just before Ruth challenged her own heart by taking on a half marathon for charity! 🏃♀️❤️
Last year, Harrison, who loves a ❤️ so much he did an extra qualification, diagnosed Bella with mitral valve disease with our fancy ultrasound scanner.
Mitral valve disease is a heart problem that damages one of the heart’s valves.
Thanks to early diagnosis and treatment, Bella’s condition has remained stable with medication helping to spot the progression of her disease. 💊🐶
Keeping Bella’s heart beating strong means she can keep up with Ruth! 💪 🐕🦺💨

This Sunday, Ruth is taking on a Half Marathon… entirely on purpose. 🏃♀️😂
The Wave Vets team will be cheering her on as she tackles 13.1 miles of sweat, determination, aching legs, and probably a few moments of regretting her life choices.
We’re all massively proud of her and the incredible effort she’s putting in — although we still think driving places is underrated. 💙

Good luck, Ruth — remember, the finish line has snacks. 🙌

Meet Jo our new vet 👩⚕️
She became a vet after spending 15 years as a registered veterinary nurse and reaching the entirely logical conclusion that the nurses were the ones truly running the place anyway.
Unable to cope with the pressure of being that competent indefinitely, she decided becoming a vet seemed like the easier option.🤣
She relocated to Cornwall in July 2025 and wanted to join us at Wave Vets, largely due to our outstanding bucket-to-staff ratio and obvious commitment to organisational excellence.
Jo enjoys practical medicine, inappropriate humour, and animals in general. 😂🐶😸💩
Outside work Jo has two labradors, a horse, two british shorthair cats, and a husband, Dom. She firmly believes labradors are the greatest dogs in the world.
Her favourite soup is cauliflower cheese and she skips when she is happy ( so you will see her skipping on a daily basis with us!)

What an amazing evening, last night was. 🤩
A massive thank you to Paul from Norbrook Laboratories GB and Jasper 🐶 his glamorous assistant!
Thank you for everyone for coming and their generosity. Together we all raised £311.50 for Last Chance Hotel Animal Rescue & Rehome, Cornwall UK. !!!!!! 🤩🤩
Thank you to Unleashed- Wadebridge's secure dog meadow for handing out doggie and human treats and Wadebridge Town Council for letting us use the town hall for the night.
We hoped you enjoyed learning about basic pet first aid, it was lovely to see both familiar faces and new ones too.
Keep your eyes peeled for the next one 👀

🎺 Own trumpet blowing time!!🎺
It’s finally official, after a lot of blood, sweat and tears (mainly Lucy’s 🤣) we are super proud to announce that the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons have been round with their little clipboard and have awarded us this certificate!
The RCVS PSS scheme is a voluntary accreditation for UK vet practices. Being accredited by the PSS demonstrates a practice’s commitment to the highest standards of animal care.
You can read more about it here www.rcvs.org.uk/practices/practice-standards-scheme
Massive thanks to everyone for all their hard work but especially for Lucy for co-ordinating the whole thing.

Next week we will be saying a very sad goodbye to our super vet Jake 😢
Life for him is about to change for 2 reasons:
1. A slight change of direction in his veterinary career.
2. In his personal life by becoming a father for the first time later this year 👶
We have loved having him as part of Team Wave these past couple of years and we will all miss him greatly but we wish him all the best of luck and can’t wait for baby cuddles soon 🥰
