All hotels at some point will have the necessity to remove unwanted odours. Especially here in The Lakes where many of our guests are keen to make use of the great outdoors, whilst staying with us accompanied by the family pooch.

With Cumbria more well known for the amount of rain rather than hours of sunshine, this produces challenges quite particular to living with damp conditions.

Additionally, due to our high occupancy rates we have a need to maintain all our rooms and public areas within a limited period - so our maintenance team is always under pressure to turn around jobs within the shortest time possible.

So it was with slight reservations that we considered the purchase of a machine from Ozone Clean, which made claims of being able to remove all forms of odours. Before making a purchase however, we decided to rent one instead from a local firm, Virus Busters from Carlisle, with both proving to be wise decisions.

Lucasz from Virus Busters provided a fantastic service, both in a prompt delivery of a machine and then collection at the end of the rental. Likewise, dealing with the manufacturer in London they prove to be equally accommodating, whilst remaining informative and communicative throughout the entire purchasing and delivery period.

Concerning the machine? It’s fantastic. This is one piece of kit that all hotels should be using as it truly does what it says on the tin. It removes smells as if by magic. We still don’t understand how it works, but instead of masking and hiding odours, this thing somehow manages to remove unwanted odours, leaving behind an airated atmosphere within less than an hour. So in terms of running a maintenance team using silicon and paint, this thing is a blessing in disguise.

But if you think this sounds like an over-zealous accolade, trust us, both the machines and Ozone Clean & Virus Busters thoroughly well deserve it.
