BMW 218I

BMW in for a lot of work to be carried out, transmission warning, brake warning, service due.

Upon inspection brake pads were found to be pretty much metal on metal, discs are okay as we caught it sooner, vehicle had no recorded service and customer was told it was fully serviced this was not the case, flywheel was a poor condition has a lot
Of free play in it, friction plate was found to be contained with oil and down to the rivvets.

✅ LUK 4 peace clutch kit with flywheel
✅ BREMBO brake pads fitted front & back and sensors
✅ full service carried out
• Oil and filter
• pollen filter
• air filter
• sump plug and washer
• spark plugs
✅ replacement wheel bolts
✅ rear main oil seal
✅ engine flushed
✅ oil additives added to oil
✅ engine bay dressed and cleaned
✅ drained and refilled with new transmission oil

Peugeot back in with me after replacing the clutch and noticed the bottom ball joints were banging about and drop links were in poor condition.

A lovely white and red abarth 595 with me for some brake upgrades just a little weekend toy for this couple.

Upgraded over the stock discs and pads to
✅ MTEC drilled & grooved discs front and back
✅ MINTEX pads front and back

✅ callipers degreased and cleaned

Nice upgrade over stock a lot better braking proformance and feed back and a look better looking behind the wheels as well.

Chris’s poorly abarth 595!

Chris was booked in with me for a major service. Unfortunately on the morning of, Driving back from Exeter experienced a miss fire! Break-down recovery called out and diagnosed it as a faulty coil pack, car got recovered to me.

After doing some fault finding unfortunately the compression tester came out and we found that cylinder 4 had 5 PSI of compression never an easy conversation to have with a customer.

Full top end rebuild was on the cards, car was left with me and parts were ordered and the strip down began.

What we found: cylinder 4 inlet and exhaust valves cracked and damaged

✅ Full rebuilt head with new valves new valve stem seals
✅ Skimmed and pressure tested
✅ All new genuine associated gaskets and seals replaced
✅ Genuine head bolts
✅ Cam-belt and water pump & auxiliary belt
✅ Forge short shifter fitted
✅ MOT test arranged
✅ Fresh coolant
✅ Oil and filter replaced
✅ Gearbox oil service
✅ NGK spark plugs
✅ Magnetic sump plug
✅ Engine cleaned and engine flushed of contaminants

Quick trip down to the rolling road to test the remap that has been previously installed by another tuner to check fueling all ok everything as it should be, all running an absolute dream now and back to a happy customer to enjoy his pride and joy once again, now the weathers getting better.
