The importance of vehicle checks. A quick tube change and out to meet Billie on her 800 Tiger. An absolutely awesome day working on some tips and tricks to raise her confidence when riding off tarmac. Still some areas to consider, but her enthusiasm and attitude were great building blocks.

🇫🇷 Back from France & back on two wheels! Delivered a bespoke 1-to-1 course for Rob — he came to me after an off on a bend, wanting to nail cornering fundamentals and rebuild trust in his tyre grip. 💪 Great day’s work: Rob focused on smooth, controlled inputs — and the natural payoff? Better flow and faster, more confident pace. 🏍️

Back to work after nearly 3 weeks in Europe, only to bump into some really close ex colleagues. I miss them a lot, but not the job. Stay safe emergency workers, contrary to social media rubbish, the public think you're doing a great job

My thanks go out to Max and Darren for their review of our outing together prior to their trip. 2 ends of the camp, Max who's just started riding and Darren who was returning to riding, both of which, I hope, gained something constructive from the day and keeps them safe in the future.

It's the end of a busy week of collisions locally. Unfortunately involving some of my biking brothers and sisters. I asked AI to give me a breakdown of the financial cost of a minor collision vs the price of further training.

A typical small at‑fault accident example (UK 2026)

Scenario: Slow‑speed bump from behind in traffic; bumper/light damage only; no injuries.

✅ Immediate personal costs

- Insurance excess: £300–£500 (average combined compulsory + voluntary)

- Extra travel: £60–£150 (taxis/hire car for 3–5 days)

- Uncovered extras: ~£0–£100 (e.g. broken phone, car seat)

- Total upfront: ~£400–£750

For about half of that minimum, you could sign on for a further rider course. It'll cost you 1 day out of your year, but may be the best investment you'll ever make.
Let's not dwell on a more serious collision and the consequences to yourself and your loved ones.....

For those involved in a collision this week, I wish you a speedy recovery.

I'm based in Wiltshire, and heard today of another motorcyclist fighting for his life following a collision. I spent 25 years dealing with these collisions which prompted me to become involved in various advanced charities and spending 16 years on the Bikesafe initiative before leading it for a number of years. I now run my own motorcycle coaching business specialising in trying to get across as many tips and tricks to ensure riders have a full, safe and enjoyable time. The problem is, new kit or shiny parts get priority over getting some training. I've seen avoidable collisons 100's of times, but riders still think, "won't happen to me". Please consider some coaching, ANY coaching, from ANY provider and get some life skills for the price of a decent pair of gloves

🎉 Facebook recognized me as a consistent post creator this week! I have absolutely no idea what this new jargon means? Do I get a medal or something g?
