⛪ **Join us for a United Methodist Service this Sunday, 2 August!**

We are delighted to welcome our new minister, **Rev Rach Collins**, who will lead this special united service for Methodist churches across Swindon.

Together, we will reflect on God’s presence with us through struggle, service and sharing — and on Christ’s call to become people of peace, compassion and generosity.

📖 **Genesis 32:22–31** – Jacob wrestles through the night and receives both a blessing and a new identity.

🍞 **Matthew 14:13–21** – Jesus feeds the five thousand, revealing God’s abundant compassion and provision.

Our worship will include:

🎵 There’s a Call
🎵 The Splendour of the King
🎵 Best of All Is God Is With Us
🎵 Make Me a Channel of Your Peace
🎵 Holy, Holy, Holy / Santo, Santo, Santo
🎵 Hear the Call of the Kingdom

🙏 Prayers of adoration, confession and intercession

This special Circuit Farewell Service, held at Stratton Methodist Church on 19 July 2026, marks the retirement of Deacon Stephen Roe and celebrates his ministry across the Circuit.

The service includes well-known hymns and songs, Bible readings, prayers, a sermon from the Revd Rach Collins, and reflections from Circuit staff and stewards as they say farewell to Stephen and Angela. The readings and themes focus on Christian service, the importance of every person’s gifts, God’s grace, and our shared calling as members of the Body of Christ.

Heavenly Father, we give you thanks for the faithful service of Stephen and Angela; for their wisdom, community and guidance that they have provided to our church family, reflecting your love and kindness in everything they've done. Together, they have been a blessing to this congregation, their words, actions and leadership touching countless lives.
As they retire from this season of ministry and relocate to a new town, we pray for your Holy Spirit to go before them. We pray that they are filled with your strength and love, and receive your peace as they settle into their new home. May they find a home blessed with your presence, welcoming neighbours and joyful opportunities.
With our love, and in the name of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, we pray.
Amen.

Today’s Café Church for Trinity Sunday gave us a wonderful hands-on reminder of how faith and love can ripple outwards.

One of our activities was building a domino run, carefully placing each piece so that one falling domino would set the next in motion. Deacon Stephen Roe helped us reflect on how one small action can lead to another, creating a chain reaction.

As we thought about God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, united in love, we were reminded that God’s love can move through us too, touching our church, our relationships and our wider community.
