It’s been almost 3 weeks since the local elections and there’s no point pretending otherwise, the result for Sutton Conservatives was a bad one.

What’s sad is Sutton also lost some very experienced councillors who spent years holding the Liberal Democrats to account and standing up for residents.

The reality now is there are only 4 opposition councillors left on Sutton Council. One is very experienced, one has done a single term, and the other 2 are completely new and inexperienced.

We understand people were angry with the Conservative Party nationally, but these were local elections about local issues, planning, parking, roads and the future of Sutton.

Like it or not, the Liberal Democrats now have a huge majority and very little opposition watching over what they do. And if we’re honest, we all know what this means, more parking schemes, more blocks of flats and more poor consultation with residents.

But this doesn’t mean we’re disappearing.

Even though many of us are no longer councillors, we’ll still be watching meetings, reading committee papers and keeping an eye on decisions being made behind the scenes. We’ve already got people covering different areas because we still care about Sutton and the people living here. This is still our home.

We know trust has to be rebuilt and that won’t happen overnight, but we’re not walking away.

This is a setback, not the end 💙

After 40 years in power, this Liberal Democrat Council has stopped listening

This Thursday, they have to consult you and people know only the Conservatives can beat them here 🗳️

A vote for any other party is a wasted vote for more of the same decline.

You deserve to be listened to, you deserve better. If you want to send that message, you have to vote Conservative on Thursday 👇

Watch Tom Drummond, the Conservative candidate for Cheam and Leader of the Conservative Group on Sutton Council, set out clearly why Sutton’s parks and green spaces matter, and why they need far stronger protection.

Sutton’s green spaces are not an afterthought, they are part of what makes our borough a great place to live. They are used every day by families, children, and older residents, and they deserve proper respect and safeguarding.

The reality is simple, once green space is lost or weakened, it is almost impossible to get back. That is why Conservatives are arguing for stronger protection, proper scrutiny of decisions, and a clear commitment to defending our parks from poor planning and quiet erosion.

This is about standing up for what residents already value, and making sure it is protected for the long term.

👋 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀! 𝗩𝗶𝗸𝗸𝗶 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱𝘀 & 𝗔𝗿𝗶𝗳 𝗦𝘆𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘁.

𝗩𝗶𝗸𝗸𝗶 & 𝗔𝗿𝗶𝗳 are standing to bring strong, accountable representation back to Stonecot. They believe residents deserve councillors who listen, act, and deliver real improvements for the area.

𝗩𝗶𝗸𝗸𝗶 believes residents in Stonecot have been taken for granted for too long. Despite the high levels of Council Tax, too many local issues are being ignored, and residents are not seeing the investment they deserve in their own community.

Vikki understands the day to day concerns residents face and is determined to ensure those concerns are no longer overlooked. She is committed to standing up for residents and challenging decisions that do not benefit the community.

Vikki is also clear about the need to protect local green spaces. With concerns raised about potential plans affecting borough parks, she believes residents deserve transparency and a strong voice to defend what matters most.

🔵 Her priority is simple, to stand up for Stonecot residents and ensure the area gets the attention and investment it deserves.

𝗔𝗿𝗶𝗳 brings a strong record of community involvement and public service to his candidacy. He previously served as Chairman of the Safer Neighbourhood Watch in Sutton South and is currently Deputy Chairman of the Police Encounter Panel, working to strengthen trust and accountability between residents and local policing.

He has also been actively involved in charitable work, raising funds to support those affected by crises in Ukraine, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Professionally, Arif has a background in management, giving him the skills to organise, lead, and deliver for the community.

As an NHS Champion in Sutton South and a father of three children attending local schools, Arif understands the importance of strong public services and safe, supportive communities. Having lived in Sutton for the past eight years, he is committed to giving back and making a positive difference.

🔵 His priority is simple, to support residents, strengthen community safety, and ensure local voices are heard.

Together, Vikki and Arif are committed to challenging complacency, standing up for residents, and delivering real change in Stonecot.
