Debutots Sutton

This photo has made my week! One of the little girls in our after school club collects her Debutots sticker every single week and just look at the collection she’s built! Every sticker tells a story, and every story sparks a conversation at home. Ask her about Bother the Badger, the Magic Rug Adventure or how we saved Bea’s Honeybees! Moments like this are why I love what I do.

Exciting news 🎉we have a new face joining the Debutots Sutton family!

We’re thrilled to welcome Laura to our team! Laura has spent the last couple of weeks observing some of our nursery and school sessions and we’ve already loved having her energy around. She’s been blown away by the children’s incredible imaginations and absolutely loved our stories.

Laura will be training with myself (Kelly) over the coming weeks as she gets ready to bring the magic of Debutots to even more little ones.

M was a turtle last week and honestly, that tells you everything you need to know about Debutots! 🐢✨

This is exactly what happens when children don’t just listen to a story, they leap into it. Through dramatic play, our little ones become the characters, explore the world of the story with their whole bodies and imaginations and that experience stays with them long after they’ve gone home.

Even our youngest Debutots can retell stories, recall characters and recreate adventures because they’ve truly LIVED them in the session. It’s not passive listening, it’s full, joyful, imaginative immersion.

We also have a huge range of stories so every session brings a brand new adventure to dive into!

And because we know the magic shouldn’t stop at the door, our Creative Planning pack helps families continue the story at home, keeping that communication flowing and giving parents and grandparents a brilliant way to connect with what their little one has been up to.

🤩This review absolutely made my morning! Watching this little one grow from his very first Debutots session in nursery all the way through EYFS and into KS1 has been one of the most rewarding parts of my job. Seeing that confidence blossom over the years is exactly why I do what I do. One of the things I love most about what I offer is that the journey doesn’t have to stop when children leave nursery. I work across nurseries and primary schools and so many of my Debutots children go on to join our after school classes - a familiar, fun and nurturing space where they can keep developing their imagination, communication and confidence as they settle into school life. 🥰

Exciting opportunity — I’m growing my team at Debutots Sutton!

I’m looking for an enthusiastic, reliable freelance facilitator to join me running drama and storytelling classes for young children across nurseries, schools and care homes in the Sutton area.

Debutots is an award-winning set of classes using story, song, drama and dance — think puppets, bubbles and tons of imagination! Full training is provided, so no prior knowledge of Debutots needed.

📅 Sessions run across Monday–Thursday mornings and one Monday afternoon, plus two monthly care home visits — around 7–8 hours per week in total.

🚗 Own transport is essential as sessions are across multiple venues.

✅ You’ll ideally have:
• A background in drama, performing arts or early years
• An enhanced DBS (or be happy to obtain one)
• Bags of energy and warmth
• A professional, reliable manner — you’ll be working in schools and nurseries

💷 Self-employed basis, invoicing per session. £20–25ph depending on experience.

This fits really well alongside other work or commitments - it’s a lovely, flexible role!
