Three Cheers for Our Volunteers! ๐
This week is Volunteersโ Week, and at PlayWise we are incredibly fortunate to be supported by a wonderful group of volunteers who generously give their time to help us every week.
Words cannot fully express how grateful we are to Bernadette and Jean, who support our Playdate group; Alfie, who supports both our Hub sessions and Playdate; Manamita, who supports our PASC group; James, who supports our SPA and PASC groups; Ally who supports Tactile Tales, and, most recently, Sarah, who kindly gives her time to translate for a parent attending our Early Bird workshop.
Our groups simply wouldn't be the same without you. Your dedication, kindness, and support make a real difference to all of us and we are so thankful for everything you do.
From all of us at PlayWise, thank you for being such an important part of our community. ๐

A sunny day means water play at Playdate! We had so much fun with our new water toy, catching fish and of course...spraying Teresa with the water sprays!

** COMMUNITY, WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT **
Weโre asking for your help to nominate Sutton Opportunity Pre-school for this incredible grant opportunity.
If weโre successful, this funding would make an indescribable difference to our preschoolโallowing us to further invest in specialist equipment and resources for our children with additional needs and disabilities, ensuring we continue to provide every child with the support they need to learn, grow, and truly thrive.
Nominating us takes less than 2 minutes, but your support could have a lasting impact on the children and families every single day.
Every nomination brings us one step closer to creating even more opportunities for our amazing children and we would be so grateful for your support.
Please click the link below and help us make a real difference.

PlayWise cafe is open for business!
In Social Wise the children have been busy making cheese spread, jam or cheese sandwiches...and some had all three!
This activity incorporated making choices, maintaining focus and attention, working alongside our peers and following directions. Continuous exposure to different foods helps to support sensory aversions, allowing them to explore it in their own time be that through touch and taste, or simply being around the different smells and sounds that foods make. This can be through a structured activity like making sandwiches, or simply messy play with cereal, jelly, custard etc with adult supervision.

Archie had his first Portage session on Friday with his Portage Worker, Maddie. While slightly unsure at first, he did giggle when the wind-up chick gave him a little peck! Portage is all about a small-steps approach; taking it at the child's pace and ensuring they are comfortable with their Portage Worker are some of the most important starting points.
Thank you to Archie and his mum, Lucy, for letting us share this moment. You can follow Archie's journey on his page Archieโs Adventures
