New UK steel import rules are now in force 📆

From 1 July 2026, tariff-free steel import quotas were cut by 51%, with imports above the relevant quotas now subject to a 50% tariff 💷

While this doesn’t mean fastener prices will automatically rise by 50%, it could affect material costs, sourcing and lead times across the wider supply chain.
