At the end of 2025, Ethan faced the double disappointment of being unsuccessful in his trials for both the Coventry and Leicester Tigers U15s PDP programmes.

Rather than letting those setbacks define him, he continued to work hard and, most importantly, never lost sight of what matters most: enjoying Rugby and making memories with his friends.

Over the following season, Ethan achieved some fantastic milestones. He helped Burton RUFC win the Staffordshire U15s County Cup, was part of the Rawlett Academy team that won the Staffordshire U15s Rugby Sevens Cup, and also represented the Coventry Bears Rugby League team.

2026 has ended on a high, with Ethan earning a place in the Coventry U16s PDP after a successful trial in September.

Ethan's journey is a reminder that nobody's rugby journey follows a straight path. There will be setbacks, rejection, injuries and moments of self-doubt along the way. What matters is how you respond to those challenges and never forgetting why you started playing in the first place.

Rugby is about more than selection letters and trophies. It is about enjoyment, friendship, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Those who keep turning up, keep working hard and keep loving the game give themselves the best chance of success. Ethan's story is proof of that.
