Karah arrived yesterday morning at 8:45, and we’re delighted to hear that both mum and baby are doing well.

Big brothers Elijah and Jonah now have a little sister to look after — no doubt another future member of the Strabane RFC family! 🏉❤️💛🖤

As we build towards the big game, it’s time to introduce some of the new faces stepping into the Strabane senior setup this season. 🟡🔴⚫

🇳🇿 𝘽𝙄𝙂 𝙇𝘼𝙇𝘼
Standing at a massive 6ft 5in, the Kiwi native can operate at No.8 or centre. A big, powerful ball carrier who will hopefully be ready to make his senior debut in the next few weeks. We can’t wait to see the big man doing his thing! 💥

Electric so far! Virgil brings serious pace and excitement around the breakdown. The type of player worth coming to watch on his own — keep your eyes on this man! 👀⚡

It’s brilliant to see players who have come through the Strabane youth system starting to make their mark and push the club forward.

Hayden Scott, Cameron Huey, Callum Kelly, Rhys Brown and Jonny Orr are five young lads who have shown real promise and are going to have a massive role to play in the senior setup this season.

It’s also great to see these young lads following in the footsteps of Tom McGilloway and Nathan Russell, who made the step up from youth rugby into the senior setup the year before and have continued to develop.

That gives us seven homegrown players making their way into the senior ranks over the last couple of seasons — a fantastic sign for the future of Strabane Rugby Club.

For the first time ever, Strabane Rugby Club will host a pre-match lunch in our new clubhouse — a brilliant way to start a new chapter for the club!

Our 1st XV kick off their league campaign in what promises to be a real ding-dong contest, with both sides looking to get the season off to the perfect start! 💪

And if that’s not enough rugby for one day… 🌍🏉

After the match, we’ll have New Zealand 🇳🇿 v South Africa 🇿🇦 LIVE on the BIG SCREEN in the clubhouse!

Youth rugby ➡️ Pre-match lunch ➡️ 1st XV league opener ➡️ New Zealand v South Africa ➡️ Plenty of craic!

Many thanks to Mick McDermot - The Mindset Coach, for a very positive talk to the senior players last night. The lads all had very positive feedback on the experience and are in a great frame of mind to start the season.

New skipper Jake McDevitt and vice captain James Perry invite you to join them as Strabane 1st XV kick off their Championship 2 campaign at 2.30pm this Saturday at home to Academy. Strabane youth also host Academy Under 18s in a friendly at Bradley Way, and the 16s and 14s play at Strabane Academy, all kickoffs at 11.30am, so the town will see a feast of rugby. Please do your best to get down to support at least one of the games. We also have a few seats left for our pre-match lunch, and if you're interested, please call bob dillon on 07714690655 to book a spot.

What a summer it has been for our Strabane youth boys!

It’s been brilliant to see so many of our lads getting opportunities with the Ulster age-grade squads and flying the Strabane colours! 🔴🟡⚫🏉

👏 Logan Cooke – great to see Logan turning out again with the Ulster U18 Clubs and continuing his development.

💪 Jack Hannan – unfortunately has been waiting on his opportunity while recovering from a hamstring strain. Hopefully he’ll be back to full fitness soon and get his chance.

🏉 Dawson Crawford – put in an eye-catching performance with the Ulster U17s on a tough day against Munster.

💪 Andrew McGarrigle & Max Mitchell – unfortunately both picked up injuries the week before the Munster game, ruling them out of the match. Hopefully both boys will be back fit and involved again very soon.

⭐ Jack Blee & Alfie Boyle – both put in brilliant performances against Munster and again at the Blitz. A special mention to Jack, who also had the huge honour of captaining the Ulster U16s. A fantastic achievement and great experience for both boys.

☀️ Ben Keys – unfortunately missed out on the match against Munster due to holidays, but has been involved throughout the Ulster summer programme.

👏 A big thank you to all the Ulster coaches for the time, effort and commitment they continue to put into the boys and for helping with their ongoing development. It’s greatly appreciated.
