SEASONAL CATTERY ASSISTANT Required

We are looking for a hard working individual with a passion for animals - cats in particular !

Starting end May until end September 2023, hours will be variable, including weekend and bank holidays, so flexibility is essential. 3-4 days/week ( but may be more), each shift will be around 3-3.5 hours/day depending on the numbers of boarders. Early starts between 6-7am.

Daily duties will include cleaning, feeding, playing and grooming our guests. Additional tasks to include deep cleaning of pens, laundry, equipment cleaning and the setting up of pens for new arrivals.

This is a fast paced working environment, so you must be physically fit.

In return we offer up to £10.42/hour (dependant on age). Holiday pay accrued at a rate of 12.07%, along with lots of furballs, fluff and offensive litter trays !!! 😹

To all our customers ………We are taking a much needed 3 week break, so the cattery will be closed from Monday 16th January until Monday 6th February. At this stage of the year we have plenty of availability so if you’d like to make a booking, please email your dates via our website. Please also remember to include drop off and collection times (between 8-10am or 5-6pm) Note we are closed Sunday afternoons and Bank Holiday afternoons.

Willow Tree, like many other catteries, is seeing an unprecedented demand for bookings this year, which has meant we have been in the position of having to turn away custom at a much higher level than before.

This year has also seen an unprecedented number of new customers join us, who are obviously all very welcome !

However we have also seen an increase in the number of cancelled or altered bookings, which in turn has left us with many empty pens that we have been unable to fill, such is the short notice we receive.

Small businesses like ours cannot sustain this level of financial loss indefinitely, and we politely remind all of our customers of our Terms & Conditions with cancellations. We will also be asking anyone who hasn’t used the Cattery before for payment in full before their booking is confirmed.

Due to unprecedented demand this year, the end of May to around the 5th June (Jubilee bank holiday) we are fully booked! Also all dates from now onwards are filling up fast with certain dates limited availability. It may be a good idea to check availability before booking your holidays as spaces here and in other Catteries in the area are going to be in short supply.

Sadly we woke this morning to find a large black and white cat on our driveway.

Unfortunately he/she is beyond help, but we will take him/her to Staveley Vets to see whether there is a microchip fitted and hopefully provide some closure for someone’s family.
