Starting March 1, 2025, authorities in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Norway have started issuing fines for trucks that are not equipped with a second-generation smart tachograph.

These fines can reach considerable sums of up to €30,000, and the risks are much higher than the cost of retrofitting the vehicle, reports Ziua Cargo magazine.

If you haven't already done so, now is the time to equip your trucks with Smart2 tachographs to avoid financial and operational risks.

Germany's Office for Logistics and Mobility has recently carried out a pilot project for the full implementation of tachograph inspections across the country.

In 2024 they carried out over 1 million remote inspections, with the the total set to increase further in 2025. Read the full article below:
