Common Thread Repair Team:
Using the Rainbow band on the sides of a worn out pair of leggings, I lengethened 50 p pair of Cords (to fit inside leg of 32 ins), trying to illustrate here that you can make an attractive FREE change that is bold and adds to the garments look and lifespan .

I get asked to shorten & lengthen trousers,joggers shorts the most,second only to replacing zips.

I thought I would start documenting my Slow fashion upcycles that I have done for Common Thread Swappers & volunteers over the previous 16 years.

If anyone wants advice on how to carry out these fixes/ recycles or upcycles,please do ask I will always be happy to give you my help & professional advice

Missed Abbeydale Live? Here’s what we had going on at The Bare Alternative We were joined by local Sheffield projects sharing practical ways to reduce waste and save money in everyday life. The Flawed Project were showing how clothing repair and mending can help you keep clothes for longer and reduce textile waste. From quick repairs to workshops that teach you how to mend your own clothes, it is all about making your wardrobe last. I also spoke with Ecofit, a Sheffield based community interest company helping people improve home energy efficiency. Their work focuses on making homes warmer in winter, cooler in summer, and reducing energy use through simple changes and expert advice. It was a busy couple of days at Abbeydale Live and we loved seeing so many people supporting local independent businesses. Made this proud Bostonian cry😭 They carried him some 300 meters to finish line. @stryker.strides writes, "Moments like this are why the Boston Marathon is more than a race.
