The Council Parks team have been busy! Overgrown paths have been cleared to make it possible to walk down the steep bank and loop round to the other end of Spider Park. Hopefully park users will be able to enjoy much more of the park now.

The jennel from Spider Park to Dial House Road now re-opened โ˜บ๏ธ

Jennel now CLOSED until the trees people can come to remove the blockage. They were up all night dealing with the impact of the storm, but will get to this asap they say.

With immaculate timing, (straight after Friends of Wisewood and 5 Rivers work on the jennel,) last night's winds have brought down a tree that is now blocking the right of way. Unfortunately it's right between the 2 newly planted clumps of bluebells, so any clearing of the tree may be a problem. Hope they survive...๐Ÿคž๐ŸคžTree is a hazard so watch yourself if using the jennel. Reported to the council.

Pleased to team up with Friends of WIsewood to work today on the jennel from Spider Park to Dial House Road. Nearly 20 volunteers of all ages helped clear the path of encroaching brambles and nettles, litter picked and planted some spring bulbs. Followed by well earned soup and hot cross buns at Five Rivers. A lovely event. Massive thanks to all who turned out to help.

Some of us had an enjoyable time helping Friends of Wisewood and the Parks Dept plant 20 fruit trees and daffodil bulbs in Spider Park. We were glad to provide refreshments for the 30 volunteers who turned out to help. Hopefully the orchard will be a great resource for the local community of park users for years to come.
