Today is World Mental Health Day, the Mental Health Foundation work towards good mental health for all; as everyone knows, prevention is better than cure. Everything they do is focused on protecting people's mental health 💚

Top tips for staying mentally well:

🗣 Talk about your feelings. Just being listened to can help you feel supported and less alone with any problems you’re going through.

💤 Get a good night’s sleep. Sleep and mental health are closely linked: mental ill-health can affect your sleep, and poor sleep can affect your mental well-being.

🍎 Eat well. A balanced diet can improve your sense of well-being and your mood.

🏃🏼‍♂️ Stay active. Physical activity is not only good for your body, but it’s also great for your mind.

👩🏽‍🤝‍👩🏼 Supportive friends can help you deal with the stresses of life, make you feel cared for and offer a different view from whatever’s going on in your head.

Here at CK, we operate an open door policy with access to trained mental health first aiders for anyone who needs support or advice, or just someone to talk to 💚

GNR Fundraising for Tommy's ❤

Yesterday our SHE Advisor Liam Laverick graduated with a NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety 🎓

Congratulations on your achievement Liam, we are lucky to have you as part of our CK team! 🏆

CK's 70K Step Challenge Recap 🚶🏼‍♀️💪🏼

Last week CK employees took part in a 70K step challenge as part of our Better Health At Work Award - County Durham submission, here are just a handful of pictures from the last week ☀

The CK team tracked their steps for 7 days, aiming for 10K steps a day to reach the 70K target at the end of the week!

CK Fruit Infusion Hydration Station !! 🍓🍊🍋🥬

Here it is, another activity as part of our Better Health At Work Award - County Durham submission - a selection of fruit and herbs to add some flavour to our water without the need for sugary flavoured water or juice!

Hydrating ourselves is so important for our minds and our body, it is great to see all of our employees coming on board and making healthier choices 💚

This week all of our employees are taking part in a 70K steps (in a week) challenge as part of our Better Health At Work Award - County Durham submission 💪🏼

Everyone has been tracking their steps on either their smart watches or pedometers that we provided to ensure everyone could take part!

We have been encouraging the team to go out for lunchtime walks as well as walks outside of work, it not only increases our step count but also improves our mental and physical health!
