A strong group of learners makes for a great day of assessing.
It was a pleasure to assess AET learners at recently. The standard of the micro-teach sessions was excellent, with clear planning, confident delivery, and real engagement throughout.
A real credit to both the learners and the training behind them.
Oil burns are a type of wet heat burn and can cause serious damage very quickly, especially in the kitchen.
The most important first aid step is cooling the burn with running water for a minimum of 20 minutes. This helps stop the burning process and reduces damage to the skin.
Once cooled, cover the burn with a sterile dressing or cling film to protect it and reduce the risk of infection.
Seek medical attention if the burn is severe, large, or if you are unsure.
Knowing what to do in those first few minutes can make all the difference.
Book a first aid course with Train Aid and feel confident to act when it matters.
