NOW OPEN FOR ENTRIES FROM OUR FRIENDS AT MatchPoint Squash

IN squash, we all know how important it is to get back to the Tees - and as quickly as possible. Which is why we’re returning to the area for the FIFTH time this summer.

Yarm hosts its second MatchPoint event on June 27th, almost a year to the day of its first.
No less than 22 of our famous madcap monrad events have come and gone in that time, and our late June event at the Leven Road club brings up our 32nd one-dayer.

All four courts will be in constant action on the day, and with a 60-capacity entry, we’re expecting another summer sellout at the home of the 2025 Durham and Cleveland Championships.

There will be a minimum of FIVE graded events, A to E, with all players as ever allocated via SquashLevels, and a full day of competitive squash guaranteed for everyone involved.
Entries will open on April 27, so get that date in your diary - and get your finger on the buzzer . . .

Last night was the club championships finals night, we had four finals across the night and the winners are as follows.

Club Champion - Greg Wass
Ladies Club Champion - Louise Mazzetti
Racketball Champion - Brian Duke
Racketball Plate Champion - Alastair McLeod

Also on the night we had our club presentation evening with the following prizes awarded

Main - Oliver Collins bt Katie Ditchburn
Plate - Sam Smith bt Simon Etherington

Club Masters
Over 40s - Gareth Rutherford bt Barry Corbyn
Over 60s - Paul Wilson bt Andy Ralston

Across the season we have monthly box leagues running and this years highest points scorers across the season were

1st - Gareth Rutherford
2nd - Adam Smith
3rd - Oliver Collins

And the clubs most improved players based in squash levels (and % improved) were

1st - Adam Smith (318%)
2nd - Michael Penketh (133%)
3rd - Emily McLoughlin (28.7%)
4th - Ben Nozedar (26.7%)
5th - Michael Buttriss (26.6%)

Our Men’s 2nd team won their division and have been promoted and our team captains picked player of the season from all team and these were as follows

Men’s 3rd - Adam Smith
Ladies - Joanne Speight

After the huge success of the charity blitz and social evening last month the Friday socials are back - Join us on Friday 29th May from 630pm for a social evening consisting of squash followed by food, drink and chat for £10 per person. This week at the club with the highlight being our Club Championships Finals night across Squash and Racketball plus Club Awards Presentation evening on Friday from 630pm….

Well done to Adam Smith who competed at Matchpoint Squash Rothwell Open yesterday….

Not content with playing in one grade Adam played in both the C & D grades playing a whopping 7 games across the day…

Adam came 14th in the C grade and made it to the D grade plate final where he was ultimately beaten to be crowned D Plate runner up.

Well done Adam!!!
