We have been quiet for a while...
Antal has been growing through his first molt over the last 3 months.

Look how is colours have changed.

Starting in early to mid summer, hawks begin their summer molt, where they shed their old feathers and grow a brand new set. This usually takes several weeks, and the hawks can look kind of disheveled as they go through the process.

We are looking forward to starting our new walks at the end of September as by this time he will have finished his moult.

In this photo I am not wearing a glove and is not best practise this is the trust we have in one another and only happens when it's us, not when he is working or feeding.

You will see his beak is long and is in need of coping but because he has not finished his moult, I haven't wanted to put him through this extra stress.

Just performing a healthcare check.

Bluebell walk

We wandered through the bluebells, wood anemone, and celandine—everything zesty green.
Overhead, the buzzards, kites, and crows made their presence known, and all around us was the low bark of muntjac deer.

Yesterday we gathered for a walk into the woods, guided by Antal.

We feel incredibly privileged to explore, walk & create, and make art alongside such a brilliant group of humans from the Earley Hotel.

Thank you so much to for the brilliant work they do and their endless love and support.

Antal & I had such a great time today at “A Dose of Nature” with at the Holybrook Nook.
A gentle, grounding day spent reconnecting with nature and soaking in its calm.
