Wright Way Dogs - Training

This little one stole my heart 🐾💓 (9mth MaltiPoo) … on my last visit with her at the park she blew me away with how full of confidence she was 🤩!!

When I first saw her she was shy … and barky around other dogs outside. We worked on her amazing hoomans leash handling, slowing the walk down, letting her sniff loads … it’s not the length of the walk but the quality 😁🌺.

Just love this gorgeous boy 🐾💕⭐️ (10mth Lab - working line) … he is super smart!!! His amazing guardians have been super committed 🙏🏼🤩🥳!

I’ve known him since he was a pup & his guardians noticed the ‘adolescent’ phase (cloth eared 🙄😜🤣🤣)beginning! He has been working on greetings, loose leash walking and his sudden aversion to jumping into the car.

The adolescent phase … is about finding less overwhelming environments to train. Often lowering your expectations…going back to the basics whilst their brain & hormones undergo their biggest change.

Be kind to yourselves ❤️‍🩹, laugh it off with a glass of wine 🍷😜… or 3!! Use enclosed fields, or non trigger walks, shorten training sessions … consider other types of low arousal training. It’s a phase … it will pass! You’ve got this adolescent dog parents 🫶💪🐾💕xx

Awww 🥰 🐾🐾🤩 these two ‘monkeys’ (Teenage Dachsies) 😜😘 … smashed training today (as did their ‘dad’)!

They have been on a journey with cats, people coming into the home and today started to realise a hooman 🫣🤣🤣 was attached to the other end of the lead 🥳⭐️!

We looked at ‘dad’s’ leash communication, how we can use our body to help our dogs understand what direction we want them to walk, what to do when we stop or see other people & dogs. They had lots of praise/reward, encouragement and connection whilst meeting their needs to be … dogs 🙏🏼🐾🐾💕!!

I am just super proud 😍 of this little girl’s (4yr Hungarian Puli) progress 🐾🌟!!

When I first met her, her responsible and amazing 🤩 hoomans had muzzle trained her. So I met her muzzled and with BIG fearful emotions ❤️‍🩹.

Very quickly we began to show her ‘predictable’ handling whilst meeting her needs through patterns and breed specific’fun’.

Yes there will be ups and downs but each week, month, year showing up like her guardians do … helps her on her journey 🙏🏼🐾🌟😘xx

Super proud of this brave boy 🐾🌟💕 (12mth Bulgarian rescue) … who started his journey to being more comfortable walking to his hoomans car, jumping into and being there even if for a few minutes 🐾🌟🎉🎉!

He has overcome his worries about leaving his home and now loves long walks with his big sister dog 😘!

His guardians have taken their time with each element really reading his body language 🙏🏼🌟🌟💕!! Always training at his pace 🐾🎉xx

That’s a wrap 🎄🥂🎉🌟🐾💕 … just back from a re-home assessment! Time to get-to-gather with family and friends. The tree is up, champagne on ice and a roast waiting to be cooked and enjoyed 😋🤪.

What a sweetie 🐾😍 this gorgeous boy is (4mths Labradoodle)!!

His amazing hoomans have been smashing training 🤩💪😘! He is still in the process of ‘winning’ over his ‘older’ ball mad dog brother 😜. This week we focused on ‘training &fun’ together 🐾🐾🌟 so that both begin to see there are positives 😁.

Pup also continues his loose leash walking training and his guardians are learning how to advocate for him outside 🤩🤩😁.

Someone has new ‘jammies’ 😜🐾💕!!
