What could have been a plain, understated exterior is now clad in FSC certified Bamboo in a variety of slats widths and depths, creating a rich visual texture. The tone of wood shifts beautifully depending on the weather, glowing warmly in sunshine or taking on a moody depth when the sky is overcast.

The project we undertook at the Mary Rose in Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard was powerful tribute to naval history.

BCL’s curved timber cladding for the Mary Rose Museum, designed by Wilkinson Eyre and delivered with Warings, echoes the form and finish of Henry VIII’s flagship.
