Sending fabulous tenor Liam Forrest - Tenor huge best wishes from all his friends at Preston Opera in The Kathleen Ferrier Awards Semi-Final tonight at the Wigmore Hall.
Listening to him sing 'Hoffman' in our 2024 production and 'Rodolfo' in our Opera Gala concert was an absolute thrill for us all!

Ahead of the 2026 Ferrier Awards Semi-final Wigmore Hall on Tuesday 21 April, we'll be introducing all our Semi-finalists:

Liam Forrest 𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘳

Fife tenor, Liam Forrest, recently graduated from the RNCM - Royal Northern College of Music, studying with Matthew Best and Mark Wildman. Liam is a Jerwood Young Artist at Glyndebourne Festival 2026. He was recently a semi-finalist in this years Concurso de Canto Tenor Viñas International Competition. Operatic roles include Passerby in Janacek’s 𝘒𝘢𝘵’𝘢 𝘒𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘢 (Glyndebourne), Young Puccini in Niall-Morris’ 𝘗𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘪: 𝘔𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘳𝘦 (Wexford Festival Opera) and Mr Rushworth in Dove’s 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘥 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘬 (Byre Opera). Other works include Elgar’s 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘋𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘰𝘧 𝘎𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘶𝘴, Verdi’s Requiem, Mozart’s Requiem, and Puccini’s Messa di Gloria. Liam looks forward to joining the International Opera Studio of the Staatsoper Stuttgart.

Liam will perform with pianist Daniel Peter Silcock.
