Myth 31: As part of a fire risk assessment required by the Fire Safety Order, it is necessary to carry out a full compartmentation survey Long answer: For the fire risk assessment, the assessor will need to take a view on the level and condition of the compartmentation, based on the hazards and the use of the building. This may lead to a recommendation for a compartmentation survey, but a full survey is not a requirement of a fire ris...

REPOSTED!! Any business owners on here: don't be conned by being told Foam extinguishers are banned. The REACH EU ban relates to 10000 listed products include FIREFIGHTERS foam containing PFAS not portables, commercial fire extinguishers haven't contained these chemicals for 10 years and are not banned under REACH EU or UK nor the Environmental Agency.
There is no legislation containing this ban for portables so if your service provider claims they need to be exchanged as no longer legal ask them for HM Gov, HSE, EA or REACH UK proof.
They will have great difficulty finding it.

Homemade E-bike Battery Linked to Fire A homemade e-bike battery that “burst into flames” destroyed two sheds in Peterborough, prompting fire crews to warn of the dangers of DIY battery packs.
The decision to ban PFAS announced by the European Commission and member states includes the UK.
Announced in July 2025 includes an 18 month transition period 2026-27 and in addition to the 10000 different PFAS products "fire fighting foam is given special consideration for fire fighting foams except where there use is required for society".
"Portables are not included in this decision"
The fire extinguisher industry is rubbing its collective opportunistic hands together.
Read into that what you will but we are falling for a panicking money making scenario.
The belief in a foam ban has been misinterpreted, misunderstood and abused.
