What a workhorse! 45kg in the trailer today, 10% battery left and still the Hygge Vester kept going. One of the best things about this bike is that the power doesn't fade as the battery gets lower, unlike other brands of ebike. But the owner does need to remember to charge it more often. 🤣

The main beach here in Tenby is accessible by ebike and it had no problem climbing the hill back up to the road.

Cycling to work lowers risk of death by 20%, says NIHR Census study - Cycling Industry News 24/04/2026

This week Cancer Research announced that more people are dying of cancer each year than ever before. Most people know someone who has had or died from cancer which is a tragedy.

But here's a fact, you are more likely to die if you commute to work by car than by bike. This includes commuting by EV, not just petrol and diesel cars. This is because of the massive health benefits of cycling including a reduction in cancer.

This might sound counterintuitive but lots of things to do with cycling are counterintuitive. A two-wheeled vehicle should fall over, but if you look at the evidence a bicycle stays up when you cycle. and the same is true if you look at the health benefits of cycling based on evidence and not intuition.

Home charging? Well that's a mains plug, the same one as for your laptop. No on-street or off-street charging issues.

And if your commute can be practically completed on a bike or ebike, it's cheaper. Cheaper than an EV. You could get your electric 'ride' for as little as £1400 if it's a good quality ebike.

28% of car drivers are now walking and cycling more due to the Iran war. A YouGov survey showed that people want to save money on fuel.

So why not save money on car parking and avoid congestion by replacing short trips to work and shopping by using an ebike?

Remember, ebikes make hills disappear, but not petrol.

This is Jane. She didn't want to pay £20 to park her car at Lulworth Cove. So Jane took her Hygge ebike. Be like Jane. 😁

Ok, she also took her kitchen sink, you don't have to do that! 🤣
