Aaawwwwww look. Mum, dad and my big brother Major pictured when they were given the award at the presentation this week.

Go mum, dad and Major 🐾🐾

It’s been a good year for Guide Dogs Torfaen! Co-ordinator Tony is now the proud owner of his first guide dog, Major, and the group is working hard to make a big impact on the area. Tony and his partner Jen have set up part of their market stall to promote Guide Dogs and sell merchandise, and Tony can often be spotted wearing the dog suit at schools during talks. They are in contact with puppy raisers and fosterers in the area and enjoy their support at various events. One new guide dog owner was inspired to sign up to become a speaker after hearing them talk!

The group has organised fundraising activities at the indoor market, attended numerous events and arranged a few of its own, such as psychic evenings and a craft fair. Announcing them as award winners in our Newcomer category, fundraising manager Ruth Evans said: “Tony and Jen always say they do it for Guide Dogs and need no thanks, but they deserve the biggest of thank yous for their support.”

Well, mum, dad and Major attended the volunteer awards this afternoon as they had been nominated and came away with this certificate 😁

As dad always says 'we don't do it for the recognition, we do it because we want to' 🐾🐾

Well, mum, dad and Major were busy fundraising over the weekend but Major has been especially busy saying hello to people that he hasnt seen for a little while.

Major did meet up with Carl Manley and Carys a few weeks ago but mum forgot to take a picture!! Buuuuuuut, Major did see them again yesterday so mum did the sensible thing 😁 well done mum!!

On the first picture is Carys and Carl (they were his fosterers) with Majors little sister Nancy and the second picture is with Brian Stuart and Julie Stuart (who were Majors puppy raisers)

Everyone had a wonderful time seeing each other again and mum and dad loved getting to know everyone. As dad always says, if it wasn't for wonderful people like these 2 lovely couples there would not have been a Major to be matched to dad 🐾🐾

Well my big brother Major had an amazing time Paws in the Paddock - Newport yesterday, when he met up with his little sister Nancy and two amazing humans that are a part of his life story as if it wasn't for people like Carys and Carl Manley then dad wouldn't have got the chance to meet Major and find that they are perfect for each other 🐾🐾
