Road closures for Perth’s pipe band celebrations - Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June 2026

The European Pipe Band Championships and City of Perth Salute are coming to the North Inch, bringing a full weekend of pipes and drums to the city.

To support these two fantastic events, a number of temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be in place from midnight on Saturday 27 June on Rose Terrace and Barossa Place. Stormont Street and Barossa Street will stay open, but access from Barossa Place will be restricted.

Local diversions will be in place, with pedestrian access and emergency routes maintained. Roads will reopen as soon as possible once the event has finished.

If you’re planning to attend, there is plenty of city centre parking available, including Pullar House multi-storey which is around a 10-minute walk to the North Inch. Find all city centre car parks at https://www.pkc.gov.uk/cityparking

If you’re travelling by bus, please check with local operators for any diversions.

Police have received a number of reports of off-road bikes being ridden at speed in residential areas, parks and footpaths in Perth.

Incidents have been reported in the city centre, Muirton, Letham, Tulloch, Moncrieffe, Craigie, Oakbank, Gannochy and Scone.

Officers are carrying out enquiries and asking members of the public to come forward with information that may assist them.

Sergeant Karen Judge said: "This behaviour is completely unacceptable and poses a risk to pedestrians, other road users and the riders themselves. It has the potential to cause serious injury or worse.

"We are seeking the public's help to identify those responsible. I am sure there are people within the community who know who owns these bikes and who is riding them in this manner, and I would urge them to come forward and speak to us.

"If you think you can help, please contact us on 101 or make a report via the Contact Us Form on the Police Scotland website. You can also pass information on anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

Dundee Dental Hospital will be closed for the public holiday on Monday 15 June. If you have a dental emergency, contact your dentist and listen to the end of any message.

The Public Dental Service (PDS) will be open during the morning only for dental emergencies for patients who are not registered with a dentist and PDS core registered patients.
