This award recognises the welcoming, diverse and equitable workplace we strive to create every day. It’s a true reflection of the dedication of our whole team — especially our staff who peer mentor and support every new young person who joins PUSH.
This year alone, we’ve welcomed another 6 young people into the team — making 14 in total — and we’re especially proud that 7 of them have overcome barriers to employment and gone on to gain and maintain meaningful roles here at PUSH.

🛏 All mattresses sold in our shop are now professionally cleaned and sanitised, so you can rest easy knowing you’re getting a high-quality, hygienic product at an affordable price.

We're delighted to be running our ASDAN 'Careers and Experiencing Work' short course for our iWork trainees.

Today the trainees worked together developing their communication, teamwork and problem solving skills to complete this practical task. The development and practice of these skills will then transfer with you to all employment.

If you or anyone you know are 16 -24 years old and face barriers to employment then our iWork employability programme could be for you the programme offers work experience, skills development and opportunities for qualifications.

A nice Friday lunch time surprise, organised by the iWork coordinators.... Congratulations Ewan for achieving your Saltire Award, 100 hours of volunteering with PUSH, thank you for your commitment, contribution and hard work. PUSH really appreciate our volunteers and the Saltire awards are one way of marking the achievement Chocolate cake and a voucher helps too😀😀

We could all be forgiven for being a bit down in the mouth and gloomy, given the summer weather we've had, but here at PUSH we have a lot to smile about and that's thanks to YOU, be that through your donations or purchases, our reuse business continues to thrive, all 5 reuse containers that we service at Perth and Kinross recycling centres are full on every service, we know its been more challenging for you to drop off donations with the new restrictions on all of the recycling centres so thank you for facing the challenges to still be committed reuse.
Primarily the reason for setting up our reuse business was to meet our charitable aim which is to help reduce the barriers to employment for young people who have additional support needs our reuse shop and warehouse has enabled us to do this successfully for a number of years through our iWork employability programme (MORE ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROGRAMME SOON!!) but we also meet other needs within our community, by providing low cost (at times free) to those in need. We also contribute to Perth & Kinross net zero plan.
Over the last 5 years we have supported over 100 young people into employment, further education or volunteering, our own staff team consists of 18 staff 8 of who were previous iWork trainees.
All income from our reuse shop is invested back into the charity to maintain and develop the support we provide to around 15 new young people a year, as well as providing opportunities for continuous personal development our existing staff and trainees.

We have been donated excellent quality cabin beds with matching wardrobes, bedsides and bookcases all thanks to Fettes College Edinburgh. There are only 6 cabin beds so please don't snooze (pardon the pun) or you'll loose!! Beds £40, Bedsides £10 and Wardrobes £15.

Although its been said many times before, its worth reiterating, how grateful PUSH are to all our customers who purchase items and to people who donate items (couldn't have one without the other) we are sometimes blown away by the generosity of you all. Over the year, we've had people donated from Auchtermuchty- who then insisted we also take money for having traveled that far - how generous! people donated large quantities of beautiful furniture from Crieff and then praised us, our warehouse staff !! how lovey is that. A brother and sister donated large quantities of brand new items after closing their business which was so kind of them, this is by no means a concise list of the generous donations we have received over the year but it does reflect the amount of support we've had. We have people donating daily and all donations are gratefully received.
