I’m excited to announce that The Orbital Ring has been Highly Commended in the Handmade category of the Scottish Gemmological Association Competition for 2025!

The Orbital Ring is inspired by the Sun and the eight planets, capturing the harmony of our solar system in motion. At its centre spins a bezel set yellow sapphire representing the Sun, surrounded by flush set sapphires symbolising each planet.

Crafted in oxidized sterling silver with fused silver filings and 18kt gold chips, the ring features a shimmering finish that represents stars, comets, and beauty of our solar system.

💎 Clark Visits the Edinburgh Assay Office…💎

Last week, I had the amazing opportunity to visit the Edinburgh Assay Office with Fife College. I took along a few of my finished pieces to get them hallmarked, as I want to offer my customers complete transparency and assurance about the precious metals I use. It’s so important to me that my buyers know exactly what they’re paying for and can trust the quality of my work.

The Edinburgh Assay Office is the trading name of the Incorporation of Goldsmiths of the City of Edinburgh, it’s one of Scotland’s oldest and most respected institutions. It was established in 1457 and its the oldest consumer protection groups in Scotland. Since 1485, the iconic Castle Mark (a three-towered castle) has been stamped on items that pass assay, symbolising quality, trust, and confidence. With over 560 years of expertise, the Edinburgh Assay Office continues to uphold its reputation.

🌟 Exciting Update from Our Jewellery Course at Fife College! 🌟

Back in October, we launched a survey to explore buying habits and jewellery trends within our business unit. The response was incredible and as a thank you, we selected two lucky winners to join us for a silver ring workshop during the intersemester break!

Myself and Emily Parkin had the pleasure of teaching the winners in a one-to-one session, guiding them through the process of creating their very own silver rings. With plenty of time in the afternoon, each winner made two stunning rings, It was a productive day!

One of the winners, Gary (Emily’s husband), had never made jewellery before. He created a hammered dragon scale textured ring and an oxidised silver filing fused ring (with a little help from myself on the tricky silver filings 😉). Both winners absolutely blew us away with their creativity and skill, especially considering it was their first time!

Teaching these workshops is always so rewarding. Seeing someone go from no experience to creating something awesome is truly special! Huge congratulations to both winners! 😁

I’m thrilled to share that my piece, the "Levels Ring", was highly commended in the 1st Year Student category at this year’s GemSet Jewellery Design Competition this year

Inspired by the iconic Super Nintendo Entertainment System, this design represents both a sense of nostalgia and my personal growth. Hearing the judges praise the quality of the setting and the high level of finish has been so rewarding and motivating. This year has been an incredible journey of learning and creativity. From mastering new jewellery manufacturing techniques to pushing myself to bring my ideas to life, I’m so grateful for all the support and guidance I’ve received along the way.

Looking back at 2024, I’m proud to celebrate how far I’ve come and excited to share the story of my progress. Here’s to growth, challenges, and the milestones that make it all worthwhile!
