Finished up on a MacDonald of Clanranald targe today. Every 6mm nail is hand placed and hammered into place ( with a few pinging off into the air only to be discovered later embedded into the sole of my shoe!😆). More info on this targe and how to purchase can be found using the link below.

Hand hammered brass boss for the O'Donovan targe finished this morning. From a 70mm diameter piece of round flat brass, heated and domed out using a hammer and hollowed out tree trunk. The finer details are hammered out on the anvil then the boss is buffed up to a dull shine.

Leather handle for the O'Donovan targe I am currently working on. This spiral design seems like a fitting style for an Irish targe 🙂
