Following up on this morning’s overview ahead of the full Council meeting, Councillor Drysdale gives an update on the key decisions made: to invest to retain library services in communities, to progress to formal public consultation on a draft visitor levy scheme for the area, and to ask Scottish Government to introduce a Short Term Lets Control area for Highland Perthshire and the northern part of Eastern Perthshire for any new short term let property applications in future.

The full recording to see the discussion and debate will be available on our YouTube channel in the next day or so and we’ll update this post with that link when it becomes available.

Scaffolding is now starting to come down at the Pomarium flats as the first phase of a major improvement programme reaches its final stages.

Work began in July 2025 to upgrade all multi-storey blocks in Perth, with significant improvements made to ensure the buildings remain warm, wind and watertight, safe and secure for residents. The work will also transform how the exteriors of the blocks look.

Housing and Social Wellbeing Convener, Councillor Tom McEwan, and the project manager Fraser Davidson, provide an update on progress, while a resident shares how the improvements are already making a difference to daily life.

Phase one of the programme at Pomarium flats is on track for completion in July, with work set to continue at Lickley, Milne and Market Courts, followed by Potterhill as part of the next stages.

Reminder: have your say on conservation areas in Perth and Kinnoull

We are seeking views on updated guidance for the Perth and Kinnoull Conservation Areas. Draft appraisals have been prepared which set out the history, architecture and character of the areas, and provide guidance for managing future change.

You can view the draft appraisals and speak to officers at our upcoming drop-in event on Thursday 25 June 2026, from 1pm to 7pm at Kinnoull Parish Church.

The consultation remains open until Friday 10 July.

We love seeing visitors rediscover Perth 👇

It's great to hear how a simple day out can turn into something more.

Crido's seafood boil videos have been bringing in people and helping them discover what else Perth has to offer. If you have not seen their seafood boil yet, take a look at their page.

People experience places in different ways. For some it is the history, for others the atmosphere, shops or food. Views will always vary, and every place has its own perspective, but it is always encouraging to hear what stands out to those visiting Perth.

If you have not visited in a while, why not come and see what you think?
