The staff in the preschool room have been very busy getting ready for Maths week next week! The focus is three little pigs, there will be lots of fun activities and provocations supporting social and emotional skills, literacy and communication and also physical development - stay tuned for more photos throughout next week.

We are so excited to be hosting a Julia Donaldson themed open day on the 5th December from 10am-12. We will have hot chocolate and stories round the Christmas tree, stickman hunt in our outdoor forest area, fun creative activities for all to enjoy. 🌿🌳 Can You Help Us Grow Our Forest Garden? 🌳🌿

We are currently developing our Forest Kindergarten area and would love the support of our wonderful families and local community! 💚

We’re looking for donations of natural, recycled and outdoor resources that can help us create an exciting space for the children to explore, investigate, build, create and connect with nature.

We would be very grateful for donations of:

🪵 Cable reels/spools
🌳 Tree stumps, logs and branches
🪚 Safe off-cuts of untreated wood
⛺ Tarpaulins/tarps
🧵 Rope and strong cord
🪣 Buckets and containers
🥄 Old pots, pans, wooden spoons and utensils for our mud kitchen
🧺 Wooden crates and baskets
🪴 Plant pots and gardening containers
🌱 Child-friendly gardening equipment
🧱 Paving slabs, large stones or natural materials
🔍 Outdoor exploration resources such as magnifying glasses, bug viewers or binoculars
💧 Watering cans and outdoor water-play containers
🛞 Old tyres suitable for outdoor play
🏗️ Guttering, pipes or tubes for construction and water play

These resources will help us create lots of opportunities for open-ended play, problem solving, creativity, physical development, teamwork and risky play, while encouraging our children to develop a love and appreciation for the natural world. 🌎🍃
